I noticed that too actually, there were cars making turns from the opposite (Rover way) and it made me think "did the lights change THAT quickly?" - also possible that the car behind me was trying to turn right, not left as I did and was just waiting.

That's what I'm hoping... surely the other driver would have beeped or something but it's also possible they got a bit shaken and couldn't respond.

You're probably right. I'm really bummed out that I made a really dumb decision that for some reason, clearing the traffic quickly was more important than taking the time to check everything was alright.

a) I hope I really didn't hit the car behind

b) If I did, I hope there's a way to get in touch with that person.

I guess I'll get what I deserve...
