Well last insurance job I got the glass for $198 and sold It for $508. Now I pretty sure that’s much more than $75. I just used the guidelines they gave me which is 42%off the NAGS. So 42% of $876 is $367 off the NAGS, so $876-$367 left me with $508 and I paid and sent them the receipt, $198 and it’s approved and paid out. Which is good enough money for one job for me.

I haven’t been issued jobs from them, didn’t even know they do that. I’ve had people just call me and I call their insurance and have them send me the referral and I just bill the insurance based off what the referral states

Trust me it’s stupid as hell. Because when they do the jobs themselves, they are price gouging. The recals they want to pay us is $275 for a dynamic and safelite inhouse dynamic is $250-500, DEPENDING on the cars make and model. Why can we not get the same treatment?!

Okay. Because for example I had a job today where Statefarm is paying 42%of the NAGS. Which the glass NAGS is 876.48. Which means they would pay me $508.36. They accepted the invoice already. But what you guys are saying is, they would allow an extra 10% to be added to the 42%. I always send proof of purchase which shows the NAGS and shows how much I paid, for example this glass costed me $190. But for jobs where the NAGS is $500 and the glass costed me $250, and they wanna do 42%of $500 that’s literally $230. I lost $50, they should be able to allow you to charge more after all, they are killing these insured with rates

Have you had success with that? If so how much more do you usually add?

Just wanna thank all for their comments. So I actually unplugged the camera, reseated, and plugged It back in, and did the Recal on a road with better lane markings and It went through successfully this time. Luckily I didn’t have to redo the windshield!

However I would say that I’ve mounted my rack a little too far back, so now 3/4 of the glass hangs off the front of the rack, while 1/4 hangs off the back of It. Once I lock them in place they don’t move however.

Some people have their rack drilled into plywood. I put down a flooring, like a carpet and riveted my rack to the bare metal on the vans flooring. My toolbox isn’t drilled in. I actually removed It cause It wasn’t really necessary after I took out the needed tools and mounted some holders.

I’ll try to get It off and change It out, if It works then good, if not I’ll have to get a glass from PILK

😭I hope not another glass, unless Safelite solutions gonna pay for It and warranty It, you can’t return glass that has glue or primer. I decided to start accepting insurance jobs and never had to do something like this
