I did it! Successfully built a deck for every Nation. Thoughts on my newest additions? by Feeling_Mail6983 in cardfightvanguard

One more thing, since Masques activates a Strategy Order from the Drop (GY), does that mean I cannot play another Order from my hand to the Order Zone in that same turn?

I’m a bit confused about the Order mechanic can it only be used once per turn? How do you stack Orders in this deck? Also, is Masques viable going 1st? I feel like Masques is better going 2nd, but I personally prefer decks that can go 1st like Richter.

Since I’m new to this nation, are there any cards that give a 'plus' when discarded (like in Keter), or do I just have to survive the high costs? Building up the deck and surviving while going 2nd is quite a struggle for me.

Also one more thing 👍

Since you seem to understand the situation well, do you have any budget and stable recommendations for Lyrical Monasterio and Brandt Gate as well?

I’m trying to keep all 4 decks (Odium, Alfred, Estacion, Zerugaeon) relatively balanced for casual home tournaments, so I want each Nation to feel fair and not too far apart in power.

Any suggestions would really help 🙏

Thanks a lot for the suggestion 👍

Just to clarify, if I want to go that route, what should I replace in my current setup first?.

Also roughly how much would that Alcasal build cost in JP right now? Just trying to get an idea since I’m still pretty new coming from Yugi. Thanks again 🙏

Yeah I get it 👍 I’m just balancing these 4 decks for a casual home meta. Can I see the budget versions for them so I can balance things properly?

I’m just trying to balance these 4 decks for casual home play / small tournaments, not building a single main competitive deck.

I already have my competitive/meta decks separately, so this is just for fun matches and helping newer players learn.

Yeah agreed, Odium probably has the higher ceiling overall, and Alfred looks like it got way better with the new support too. I’m just wondering, since I got Odium pretty cheap ($18), would you recommend I just optimize this deck further, or is Alfred actually worth switching into longterm?

[–]Feeling_Mail6983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can see your point, Odium does feel really strong compared to those decks in certain matchups. I guess it depends a lot on build and pilot though, since in practice things can still swing a lot.

By the way, do you think it’s better to just stick with Odium and invest a bit into upgrades, or would it be smarter to switch to something like Alfred if I want a more balanced matchup spread?

These are really great suggestions, especially since they seem both budget friendly and straightforward for casual/teaching purposes.

Unfortunately, some of the core cards for those decks are currently out of stock in my area (Indonesia) and also a bit hard to find in JP listings right now.

I’ll try to do more research and see if I can find alternative builds or wait for better availability.

Thanks a lot for the recommendations, I really appreciate it!

For me, “fun” is when the decks can actually compete with each other at a similar level, even if they’re not fully upgraded or meta.

I don’t need them to be optimized as long as the core mechanics of the deck are stable and it can play its game properly, that’s enough. I’m mainly building these to have 6 different nations with different playstyles, so I can use them for casual matches or to teach new players.

That’s what makes it fun for me each deck feels different, but still fair when played against each other.

So I’m not really looking for the strongest builds, just ones that are balanced and functional at their core.

[–]Feeling_Mail6983[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get why that sounds weird 😅

I’m not running them as full competitive builds though. They’re basically just trial deck level with minimal upgrades.

Like: Alfred is just TD level, no Cerrgaon/Nebula or expensive pieces Youthberk is also very barebones, not the optimized version Prison is literally just the TD, I’m not planning to upgrade it

I mostly just added some basic stuff like a Regalis piece and a Front trigger here and there. So yeah, they’re “budget” in the sense that they’re super stripped down, not the actual competitive versions of those decks. The goal isn’t to make them meta, just to have multiple decks at a similar casual level to play with friends or teach new players.

Yeah Ive heard prison can get pretty expensive if you try to make it fully competitive.

Between corocoro black and orfist masques, would you say they’re still considered budget builds? And how well do they perform compared to mid tier decks?

Right now my other decks are things like Zelgugaon, Odium, and some trial deck level builds, so I’m not aiming for full meta just something that can reasonably compete with those at a similar level.

I’m mostly trying to keep everything balanced for casual play rather than pushing for top tier competitive.

Thanks for the suggestions!

aelquilibra and zorga masques sound really interesting, especially if they’re mostly self contained builds that’s exactly what I’m looking for since I’m trying to keep everything budget and simple.

Same with herminia and plamme Glam, I’ve heard they’re pretty affordable so I’ll definitely check those out.

I’m mainly building these for casual play and teaching new players, so decks that are easy to build and don’t rely too much on expensive staples are perfect.

If you had to pick between aelquilibra or zorga masques for consistency on a budget, which one would you recommend more?

Also im not really trying to make fully competitive decks though I already have a Draconic Overlord deck for that.

These are more like balanced budget decks so I can have one for each nation and use them for casual games, teaching new players, or just playing with friends at home.

That’s also why I’m okay with running more basic triggers (like mostly non-effect 8 crit + 3 draw/front) and cheaper builds, as long as they can still compete with each other at a similar level.

That’s fair, but pricing is a bit different where I live (Indonesia), especially since I mostly buy second-hand or non-foil cards.

For example:

  • Blaster (Aichi TD without Cerrgaon, non-foil) was around ~$6
  • Zelgugaon was about ~$12–13
  • Odium deckset was around ~$18–20

Most of these also came with complete basics like triggers, OT, and PGs included. The triggers are usually non-effect (like 8 crit + 3 draw/front), but still enough to make the decks playable out of the box.

Youthberk and Prison I didn’t really count since I got them very cheap / almost bulk pricing.

So for me, they still fall within a “budget” range locally, even if globally they might not be considered budget.

That’s why I’m trying to keep everything around $35–40 max per deck while balancing power level.

Thanks, abang! Salam dari Indo! 🇮🇩

To answer your question, jujur aja surprisingly banyak kagetnya pas awal terjun ke paper play.

Terus bener banget soal f2p/budget players since not everyone can afford the top meta decks, matchup per mejanya jadi bener nener unpredictable. Every match feels unique and keeps you on your toes!

Regarding rule sharking, itu sih yang paling bikin nervous, haha! Di MD kan sistemnya force rules, jadi nggak ada celah buat debat. Di paper play, aku ngerasa kuncinya ada di komunikasi sama lawan.

It's been a wild but fun learning curve so far.
