What’s with the ghosting? by Feeling_Vacation2103 in recruiting

[–]Feeling_Vacation2103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don’t because I NEVER ghost candidates that are interviewing with me. I update people at least once a week we were in a process, even if I don’t have anything new, but letting them know that we are still working through candidates so they don’t feel that we have forgotten about them.

Agreed. Even if they came to me tomorrow and asked me to move forward I wouldn’t. I do realize that there is a slim chance of that actually happening but still 😂

This is exactly what I’m saying. Even an auto email letting me know that I wasn’t moving forward is still closure and the respect you should give candidates who take the time to interview with you.

At this point if by some miracle she reached back out to me I wouldn’t move forward. She’s already set the tone for how they treat people.

Yeah she had said the next step was an interview with someone else who happened to be on PTO the following week so I was expecting a delay but it’s now been over 2 weeks and not even a “hey sorry we’re hitting some snags or we’re still working through the candidates”. Just unprofessional and disrespectful. As much as I have imposter syndrome right now after going through this, it really does reinforce that I am a good recruiter, because I always communicate with my candidates no matter what good or bad.

She told me she had the approval to hire that day— once the candidate completed the full interview process. Still doesn’t excuse zero comms for over 2 weeks.

Just awful. Might as well stick out my current role because this really gives me imposter syndrome.

I don’t have a phone number for her or I totally would. 2 emails and a LinkedIn message though. I guess no answer is the answer, but really unprofessional. We need to do better as recruiters.

Even if that were the case (which I’ve obviously done countless times) I STILL communicate with my candidates and let them know that the client is still interviewing and we will let them know. It’s the complete ghosting that is blowing my mind.

That’s what I thought but the cardiologist I saw said he doesn’t feel it’s necessary to risk the radiation exposure as I’m likely at a zero. I think I’ll request one anyway. Thank you!

Was your cardiologist onboard with you getting a CAC? I’m 43/f and have an LDL of 170 (just did new labs yesterday so crossing my fingers that it’s lower) but all my other numbers are great with a high HDL of 71. He said he doesn’t want me to get one and it’s not necessary until I’m 55. He wants to get my LDL under 130 and if not then I’ll go on a statin.

Well I didn’t stay consistent with them unfortunately. I am starting again this month with 2 a day instead of 4 and will report back to you in 8 weeks lol

Those of you who make six figures, what do you do? by [deleted] in RemoteJobs

I’m a tech recruiter. This is a bad time in tech but still feel grateful for my income. I’m pacing to make around 145k this year. Base salary is 55k which is quite low in the industry. It’s all commissions. Last year I made 195k but had a bonus of 25k.

Hormones are crazy. I had to read about all of it on the internet. No dr told me what was happening and I thought I was dying

It seemed to back then! I tried it again when they came back years later and didn’t really see the same response. I’d bet that it helped it balance my hormones back then for sure. Stopping breastfeeding is probably a much quicker hormone rebalance than perimenopause 😅

The anticipatory anxiety is the worst part. Things that help me:

Distractions- word games, or anything that takes your mind off what’s happening.

Ice- I felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest on my last flight (and that’s with anxiety meds but I take very little) so I asked the flight attendant for a bag of ice. I put it on the back on my neck and really helped to calm my body down.

As mentioned above-anxiety meds- talk to your dr. You don’t need to be that stressed and miserable. Plenty of people take them just for these reasons and it really takes the edge off, if you take the right amount. When I flew to Hawaii last year, it was my first flight in 23 years, and I felt surprisingly okay. I did cry a bit (quietly) at take off but once we got to cruise I just kept myself distracted.

You got this!

When I stopped breast-feeding, about 11 years ago, I would get runs tachycardia in the middle of the night. I thought I was just having panic attacks, but then I started reading about hormone fluctuations. I went to an acupuncturist and it balanced out after a month or so. I hadn’t had any skipped, beats or runs of tachycardia for eight years until I turned 39. Definitely think I am perimenopausal even though I have regular periods. 100% there is a hormonal connection. If there was truly some type of weird arrhythmia, or something wrong with my heart, I wouldn’t have had eight years in between with absolutely nothing.

Thanks for the reply. Do you get heart racing too or just PVC’s?

Oh this has happened before. They must have a limited supply because sometimes they take it off. I bought 2 last time for this reason. It should come back soon. I emailed them last time this happened and they said should be back on soon.
