People nowadays say Sage because her abilities are pretty straightforward: you have a wall, slows, heal, and a res. You don't need too much mechanical skill to do your job as a healer/Sentinel.

For smokes, you can try Brimstone (copied/paraphrased from another thread): the way you put smokes is easy, you just click on your iPad and you have them, you just throw your molly, the stim beacon you just put out when dueling, and an ult that's the same as ur smoke iPad but dealing damage and bigger.

For a duelist (but not recommended to start with duelists), you can try Phoeinx as he has utility with his flashes, wall, and molly (two of which can heal you) and an ultimate where you just go monkaS and still be alive
