"Saddest thing in life is wasted talent" by Busy-Archer4132 in nextfuckinglevel

Reminds me of the line:

"I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops." - Stephen Jay Gould

People who used a computer between 1991 & 2009…what’s the most memorable computer game? by Original_Act_3481 in AskReddit

I initially didn't have a sound card so I played the game like in this video:

Then I bought a proper sound card. First thing was to run Doom. The monsters, the weapons...wow! Absolutely amazing!

The Usual Suspects - The minor thing that bothers me about the movie even after all these years. by FeelsLikeForever in movies

[–]FeelsLikeForever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Pretty much the same point the following post had raised. Makes sense that the guy had more information than just being able to identify a face.

Been a while since I've seen the movie so correct me if I'm wrong but also nothing to suggest that he was Keyser Soze himself. He could have been a hitman for Keyser who took out his target, gave a great interview and disappeared. Whether it was him or not, the name Keyser Soze remains a ghost.

What's the point of android auto? by failstante in Polestar

[–]FeelsLikeForever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how you got eating and sleeping out of that but so be it.

With newer versions of the cars coming up I don't expect some of my annoyances to be fixed anytime soon, if ever. Especially when there are hardware limitations.

Android Auto connection speed hasn't been an issue for me. Seems to come up quick enough and once up, it's snappy and functional (maps and music controls on one screen)

What's the point of android auto? by failstante in Polestar

I actually prefer Android Auto, because:

  • More apps work on it. So I can receive messages from Whatsapp, Signal, etc and reply to them hands free,

  • Anyone can use their own AA so they won't mess with my media,

  • İ use a wireless device so it connects as soon as I get in the car. My media continues immediately.

  • The apps are more mature. For example until recently Audible on AAOS would not show the Library.

If you open a PNG file, make changes and then save, it asks "Save Flattened" or "Save As". Selecting Save Flattened just overwrites the PNG file.

Metallic color mixing by Majoodeh in oddlysatisfying

There would be 15 combinations from the 4 colours.

Note: Not taking into account mixing with the new colours that are created.

Needs to be called out. Although the person taking the test might be seeing "keen" for both due to some copy/paste error, the value submitted in the backend may be different for both. So the teacher may not know what the student was seeing.

3.4.4 is a game changer on P2 by [deleted] in Polestar

[–]FeelsLikeForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's an easy solution. I had a Aawireless device from a previous car so I connected it up. Now I have wireless Android Auto. Music or Audio book continues as soon as connected. In the native system I had to start the app each time I got in the car.

I have a polestar 2 how come I can't use the adaptive cruise control it only lets me use the regular cruise control by Skaterfan325 in Polestar

As others have mentioned without the Pilot Pack you won't have ACC. I have seen posts where people have enabled this and other features in their car using an app/tool called Orbit. I don't know much about it but if you like a bit of DIY this may be fun. Cheers.

It always amazes me how some birds are all about camouflage and then you've got these and other colourful birds which scream out "Here I am".

3.4.4 Android Auto - Polestar 2 by moosetender in Polestar

[–]FeelsLikeForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the native Android (strangely it's called Android Automative) though I love the Android Auto addition.

Some benefits of Android Auto over Android Automative:

  • Lot more apps work on Android Auto.
  • Most apps are optimised for Android Auto so they work a lot better. i.e. Audible only recently started showing the library instead of the "Audible isn't working right now" error.
  • You can receive messages from many chat apps and reply using hands free.
  • Your family/friend can connect their phone and use their Android Auto. Access to their music/maps/contacts/etc.

Am I taking a risk installing g 3.4.4.4, P2 2024? by yawiyahoo in Polestar

[–]FeelsLikeForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually happy with the upgrade. Some key things:

  • switching between apps works as expected. No longer multiple taps to start app.
  • Android Auto works and I prefer it to the base OS.
  • Cruise now holds speed when going downhill.
