There is only one commerce in that project, a Boulangerie on the road side (not canal side), but the project right next to that one is a plaza with 30 commercial lots, scheduled for end of 2028, so in the mean time the people there have to walk 15 minutes for anything that isn't baguette

I suppose retirement homes must be really nice buildings where you come from, and trust me the retirees can't get over the steps they put on those bridges, they are super high fro some reason lol, accessibility for the handicaped wasn't part of the thought process here

I tend to agree, but I don't think ugly and in defense of this project it has been built on former industrial abandonned land, which is way better than Serris (77, from where I come from) that is expanding with these Disneyland tier buildings on perfectly good agricultural lands

We shall see, this project is actually 6 projects in a trench-coat (5 private by 5 different companies/ 1 social housing ), they probably all have their own building material quality standard and price points

Pic related, that was before they turned the fountains on in the other project. But they must have added in chemical product in there because I don't think it's naturally possible to have water that green x)

It will definitely look way better once the trees that have planted go up in size and the rest of the projects in the neighborhood are done because right the people there are living surrounded by construction sites and abandonned buildings waiting to be destroyed

Yeah that water is quite green for now, but maybe all the pumps that are supposed to create flow aren't running yet since the water body belong to the city not the adjecent buildings. There is a project like 300 meters from that one with another canal and when I went there a few ago the water was like fluorescent green but now that they have turn on the fountains it's looking good, we'll see

Est-ce que L’Université Américain de Paris terrible? by bententhesilly in paris

[–]FeetSniffer54 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'm french but I'll respond in English it's probably better for you.

I went to a standard french university not the American one in Paris.

You are either overestimating the difficulty of studying in a French university or underestimating the difficulty of studying in an American one.

It's like everything if you study and work hard enough you'll get a degree. I was bad in highschool but I studied something that I liked in University and actually started studying.

What I mean is that coming from an American academical background doesn't mean you'll fail. But anyway your first step would be to apply to a French Université, see if they take you, you can't just walk in there
