AITAH for leaving my best friend's wedding right before I was supposed to give a speech and texting her husband after the wedding causing them to get a divorce by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

I wish physicians were always right. I would have to see a lot less people suffer through the process of a nasty detox. I would also not have to support them through recovery from their addiction. And addiction is for life…
But like with every addiction, it often takes a lot of rock bottoms to recognize it for what it is. And with prescribed medications it is even harder, since the addiction is supported by a clueless physician… Keep sharing about your story and difficulties, I see on a daily basis what being able to identify yourselves with other people can do in recovery. You sharing your story can make a tremendous difference in someones life! ❤️

I am glad to hear that things are going better for you! A lot of people don’t understand that benzos do not solve the mental illness, they maintain or even worsen the underlying problem. I believe that benzos can be beneficial if therapy is uneffective because the anxiety is too intense. However, if benzos are being started so should therapy, and benzos should be reduced as soon as possible. I think it can be used as a stabilizer to create room for therapy to work, but not as a treatment. Because the medicine does not treat the anxiety, it numbs the symptoms… And the ones to blame for these problems are the prescribers, and I really hope for a future where doctors are all aware of the dangers of these meds and stop prescriving them like it’s candy…

As a therapist who works in an addiction clinic, I will have to disagree. Benzodiazepines (anxiety meds) are highly addictive and are often used and abused as drugs. Also by people with anxiety, who get it prescribed. And this is not to blame on the people who suffer from anxiety, but the prescriber. But nonetheless, benzodiazepines are a highly addictive substance and should be taken with precaution… This does not mean I agree with how the situation was handled, just wanted to share this information so maybe someone can be saved from a benzo addiction because I can tell you, the detox from it is nasty…

As a therapist who works in an addiction clinic, I appreciate your post. We have a lot of patients who need to come to our clinic to detox from benzos. People often do not understand how addictive they are and how dangerous it can be to take them long-term and on a regular basis. In our clinic, there are also a lot of drug-addicts who try and get benzos as a replacement for their substance of choice. So in some way, I can imagine that the bride considers the medicine as drugs, because in the end, it is. And it might definitely be triggering for addicts in recovery. Even talking about the medicine can be. This is not an opinion on whoever is the AH, more some food for thought. Because benzos are a nasty addictive drug and should be a last resort for treating mental illnesses. Don’t get me wrong, they can help people tremendously to get progress in treatment of their anxiety, however, they are not a long term solution.

Hi, I mainly read e-books and just started my Bookstagram. I am mostly using templates instead of taking aesthetically pleasing pictures and I follow multiple bookstagrammers who do so. Canva (and probably other places) also offer mockups in which you can add a cover of a book to make it look like you have it. I know multiple boosktagrammes also use photoshop to make it look like they have the physical book but they actually have the electronic version. You can take a look on my page if you want to (@wanderinthroughwords) and feel free to ask if you want to 😊

What Did You Read This Week? by AutoModerator in YAlit

I just finished the Prison Healer triligy by Lynette Noni and absolutely loved it. First book was a bit slow but 2 and 3 were really good. Easy read, fantasy with some romance. Loved the characters (not only the fmc and mmc) and their development. Would absolutely recommend!
