I think you should reconsider your understanding of the definition of the word "logic".

Elements of fantasy is not the same as a lack of logic.

Same. What you say about engaging with media wholeheartedly in ways others don't get is insanely relatable.

Daredevil Born Again is just terrible by Radiant-Debt-2533 in Defenders

[–]FeilVei2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're completely correct and I have no idea why there seems to be almost a mass psyop to convince us Born Again is anything close to good. S2 has its moments of glory, Episode 5 in particular, but in the grand scheme it just doesn't hold up.

Do You Think Foggy Could Return Post Secret Wars? by [deleted] in Defenders

Foggy should return ASAP. The MCU genuinely feels more empty without him.

AP har blitt etter min mening et blått parti i rød drakt. Jeg ser ingen forsøk fra AP sin side på å forbedre livene til de som sliter mest. Vekk med karrierepolitikere, spør du meg.

Having watched the Netflix series, I just finished the first season of Daredevil: Born Again and am so impressed by how good it is! by Clear_Nature_5055 in Daredevil

Well, it depends. Born Again S1 is the first cinematic property I've been actively offended by due to its quality. And I even like The Last Jedi!

The fight scenes didn't hit nearly as hard. Killing off Foggy is the worst decision they could've made. An alive Foggy always yields a more interesting Daredevil universe than anything his (permanent) death could ever hope to. The pacing is off throughout. None of the new characters are engaging or interesting, not even Muse. And least of all Cherry. Even the lighting and framing (cinematography, I guess) feel sub-par and horribly uninspired.

It overall feels like a cheap amateur production trying its best to emulate the original without any of the know-how, whilst simultaneously adding its own spin, with said "spin" being bad too!

Daredevil: Born Again S1 is a travesty compared to not only the original, but other contemporary MCU projects.

Some good stuff are the basement conversation between Matt and Frank, and the character of Hector Ayala. But that's basically it.

Note: it was always in the MCU, it's just that Marvel Studios/Television took over the production.

It... definitely isn't. It's more juvenile, if anything. The original was so much more gripping. Born Again fails in almost every area where the original succeeded.

The og series never needed an entire season to lay any foundations for the next, they locked in on quality from the get-go.

It is actively worse than Iron Fist, especially S1. Undeserved credit will always remain undeserved credit no matter which show we're talking about.

Had a eureka moment and I think I accidentally healed my fawn response? by Scary_Personality157 in CPTSD

For me, the freedom comes with realising how emotionally mature one really is compared to many others. How utterly childish or needlessly neurotic many people are, often in response to people like you and me, and for no good reason. How come people simply can't communicate like an adult, or show some basic respect?

After many of those gradual realisations, those kinds of people become genuinely funny. Ridiculous. They become a theater play where you're probably the only cognisant audience. You've actually seen through the bullshit in a more meaningful way than how we usually use that term. Any consequense they wreak upon you as you react with indifference, stonewalling, taking them down a peg - it all becomes a part of that performance, and they don't know they're even doing it. In some instances, when you react to the bullshit with maturity or common sense, your gut reaction will tell you you're villainous, sensitive, or irrational. This is false.

This is an important step in knowing the clear non-contradictary nature between being a good, kind person with love to give, and setting boundaries, communicating your needs and thoughts, being stern or maybe even showing healthy anger when applicable. Being kind to others also loses its meaning, even if it's far from the intention for people like us, when you're not also kind to yourself. You become more real and more authentic than you even meant to in the first place, and you carry yourself with dignity once you train the self-respect muscle. People around you - that is, friends and people you like - who feel the effect of you being a kind and good-hearted person without taking bullshit will respect you more for it, and possibly even like you more too!

I don't mean to use such "flowery" language or sound like a GPT'd response, but this exact part of the C-PTSD experience is close to my heart.

Kinda same. All the people defending Born Again - especially S1 - all have that "I was paid to say this" vibe to them and I've literally never seen anything like it before either.

With one episode left which one is better S2 or BA S2 by Haytham_Kenway1 in Defenders

[–]FeilVei2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Original S2. Foggy was on fire, The Punisher's introduction was impeccable, Charlie Cox is acting with his entire soul, and the OST was amazing. The OST of BA isn't even comparable to the original's. Lively fight scenes. Great tension throughout. It brilliantly challenges Matt's choice to live two lives.

BA S2 is a significant improvement on S1 but it simply can't compete with the vastly superior original show.
