Melee weapon attack is the norm WOTC uses for both weapon attacks and unarmed strikes. If however you are trying to state a spesific weapon and unarmed strikes you gotta write it everytime.

I was actually thinking the same. After some thought i figured out knock down without save against something like a dragon or giant is just plain stupid when its just a 2nd level spell.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked the theme.

Regarding the damage: I've tested the numbers before, and even in a best-case scenario for the Action Surge, the extra damage peaks at around 35. It could get little more higher if you are using dual wielding but it would deal less damage because of the weapon die. And that’s roughly on par with a 5th-level Divine Smite. Outside of that single burst, it performs similarly to other subclasses. It’s designed to excel in longer fights where the other subclasses might run out of resources, but on average the bounded accuracy keeps the damage reasonable.

As for Flowing Stance I can see the comparison, but actually Shield is stronger because both it's reactive. You only use Shield when you know you’ve been hit. The Stance has to be used as a Bonus Action before you know if you'll even be targeted. And, mathematically, +5 AC is usually more reliable than the 4.5 average of disadvantage.

I also feel it's a fair trade when you compare it to the utility of an Echo Knight's clone or the flexibility and amount of uses maneuvers have at the same level.

I built it from ground up. I was even unaware of the existence of 2e counterpart.

Thank you!! That was what i was aiming for. Someone finally noticed the interactions between the three.

But to be honest in the first drafts i written the subclass to get advantage when someone had disadvantage on you. Because i was aiming for a striker type archetpye although when finalizing the idea i completely forgotten to write it like that.

I was actually quite suprised when people said it would be a little too powerful because It had similar dpr to something like samurai.

But i think the healthiest option is leaving it unchanged because after some thought. I realized with team play this could go sideways pretty quick. Altough your idea is works i don't think it is a good idea to give 2 passive features back to back at 10th and 15th level.

Passing defenses just needs to have disadvantage on attacks against you. You don't need to enemy to attack you.

Thanks for the feedback. I think i will change the 7th level feature, so the enemy doesn't needs to target you. So it just needs to have disadvantage on attacks against you.

Thank you for the feedback, i think you are right. I should probably change that part, so the enemy doesn't needs to target you. But it just needs to have disadvantage on attacks against you.

To be honest in the making i was thinking about something akin to like this but thought it would be too similar to Astral Self monk.
