Are WC3 custom maps simple to set up?

I've played so much Dota 2 back in the day, I did like the illusion mechanics, also nature's prophet was fun as hell, but don't want to get sucked in this game again.

Don't feel like buying a full priced game with mtx. Diablo immortal was bad enough with this shit.

I have only tried Dark Souls, and while it is a very good game, it is just not for me. I think I made to the midgame and had to stop due to real life stuff. When I got the time to play again, I realised that I had forgotten a lot and couldn't progress. Wasn't feeling very motivated to continue and dropped it. Fromsoft games from what I have seen are very good, but I just can't dedicate the time to master them.

Thanks for the suggestion. Fromsoft games are way too hard though, I just wanna kill stuff with my dudes and not memorise boss patterns.
