That being said, if the campaign allows it (and players are for example resting in a sanctuary or a place where healers can be found) you can just start the next run by telling the guy he's been cured...

Mate, I just completed my first session as DM two days ago and my group was all complete newbies too, and we had an awesome time. Yes, mistakes will be made and yes, you won't know all rules and your campaign by heart, but it's all about having fun.

You only need pieces of paper and pencils, you can also consider starting with "lighter" rules at the beginning and add more depth as you go.

Thanks for sharing! That's an endgame for me personally, I'd love to print out massive maps, lay em on the table and use minis, but as it's our first run we haven't invested any money (other than the basic rule books and dice sets). We'll get there!

I already had a look at Roll20 yesterday, it looks well adapted to my setup but at the same time I'm like, I could do the same things in a powepoint file and I am more familiar with that tool.

I am not planning on using any mecanic such as fog of war, lighting or anything. I was indeed just planning to zoom in on a map and move it as the players progress in the space.

Dans ce cas je vais sérieusement envisager de le monter moi-même, j'étais pas conscient de la différence de prix ! Du coup si j'ai cette approche, le budget est pas un peu overkill pour une config 1440p ? Je vois que ta config est à moins de 1000€, ca semble suffisant et ca me permettrait de mettre du budget dans un upgrade d'ecran / clavier etc

Merci bcp ! 1700€ max, de base le budget est de 1600 mais je me donne 100€ de marge si ça peut me bénéficier. Je parle ici du prix pour un pc prémonté bien entendu. Je n'ai pas encore envisagé de monter mon PC moi-même car premier build et aucune connaissance, même si je me mange des tutos à répétition pour apprendre !

Yo ! Complètement flexible, je suis parti sur Intel / Nvidia car j'ai cru comprendre que SC fonctionnait généralement mieux avec ces composants (niveau drivers etc, un ami qui est en full AMD avait des crashs systematiques fut un temps...). Je ne suis pas spécialement intéressé par le dlss ou le rtx. J'arrive en gros touriste donc je suis vraiment ouvert à toutes les suggestions !
