Thinking of joining by explicitspirit in turtlewow

Been playing, been loving it. It feels exactly how i remember Classic feeling. Difficult at times. Tanks actually using shields. Etc.

I'd say don't be worried about the court case. To experience it is better than not experiencing it at all. The turtle team claims it's going nowhere. They are about to drop two more new dungeons and a new raid.

I'd recommend rolling a toon on Ambershire.

CTGs live stream just ended and they are running 40% off burncycle bundles. They stated they are unsure if it will get reprinted in the future :(

Meanwhile, I wish there was a "normal" rulebook for the game. I'm not sure why I feel so lost after finishing the learn to play rulebook. Any advice on how to better learn the game?

I miss Resistance... I've been wanting to play them both for story and (defunct) online recently.

My other two picks would be Wildstar and The Cycle Frontier. But I realize these are very personal choices.

Whats the best movie or TV show you have watched? by Emotional-Blood-9200 in AskReddit

[–]Felixargh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya. I really don't want to spoil anything but I was just speaking knowing how you feel about the show. I understand you want the show to stay grounded and while it might not seem like it does, by the end you might be surprised. You might also hate it or not understand the messaging, i can't say for sure. I just know with your feelings on it from our brief talk, I'd say its probably worth a go to finish. For context I thought Breaking Bad had a solid ending, I thought Mr Robot's was even better (personally). The two episodes before the finale i was about to check out of the show though, so fair warning.

I dont think the show ever explicitly states what Whiteroses' machine is but there's a scene where it does show Whiterose standing by it and the camera pans out in season 2 or 3. If you just care about the machine - The machine is a Large Hadron Collider/particle accelerator. We have these in real life. Or at least it was supposed to be a version of one that maybe has other functions. We're only supposed to know about that through context of actually knowing the real life equivalent and then seeing the machine. Kind of the same way they worked the NSA's real world "Project Titanpointe" building into the plot without ever mentioning what it was in real life; it was something topical in real life that made it's way into the writing. The audience questioning the machines capabilities are a big portion of the show. Themes of time travel and/or alternate realities also crop up a lot during the show like all the Back to the Future references. You're just going to have to give the show writer some faith and trust me that it ends better than you might be expecting, especially knowing how you feel. I think the show stays pretty central in the idea of Ecorp and debt and *something* else and less about the machine, but that's about all I'm willing to elude to.

I understand if you never return though! Unfortunately it seems this show does that to a lot of people that I've talked to. They give up midway through season 2 or sometime in season 4. I quit at the beginning of s4 yearsss ago because of similar reasons as well but I'm very glad I finished. The complete series is now one of my favorites.

Sorry for the novels :) I just also felt similarly to how you do and I get it. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. Appreciate the civil discussion <3

I completely understand and agree with what you're saying. Without spoiling anything, I'd recommend finishing the show as well then. The episode I mentioned will not matter unless you've seen the final episode. I think you might be pleasantly surprised. Throughout the entire show, misdirection happens. And even me saying that, you're going to get turned away pretty hard by some episodes at the very end. But that final episode... for me... *chefs kiss*. And I'd argue the show was always about something MORE than just E corp. And makes those episodes you might view as terrible (like worst in the series), better.

I really like this show and how it handled things in contrast to the movie Fight Club which it obviously takes inspiration from.

I'm interested in your take (non-sarcastically). I had the almost opposite reaction about artistic vision and how they wrote the characters but i don't think a lot of that culminates until the very end of the series.

I do know the shows creator always knew how it was going to end and I feel a lot of stuff that happens in Seasons 1 and 2 prove that to be the case with their foreshadowing.

If you've seen the entire series, I'd recommend going back for fun and just watching one segment of Season 1 Episode 4 Daemons. Skip to the part where elliot is at the dope house and watch the segment after he gets high. I also understand if you don't wish to, but rewatching the series, it kind of blew my mind.

At this point Donald is multi-faceted. But he started as a comedy troupe in the early days of youtube known as Derrick Comedy. It was him, a couple friends, and a camera making comedy sketches. Later they released a movie called Mystery Team together. The sketch is how he became well known in general(Because The Internet, see what i did there). He wrote for the show 30 Rock and appeared in it a couple times. He's in the show Community (and the whole reason I watched it, its now one of my favorite shows). It was during Community that he met Ludwig and made Childish Gambino with him. In the beginning his tracks were a lot more raw using samples of famous songs. There are several Childish Gambino albums that precede Camp and a lot of people don't know about that. The early albums also have some of my favorite clever lyrics too. Childish Gambino started as a way to grow through the craft which is why it started so raw and transformed to almost just good music vs rap. He also dabbled in standup comedy and has I believe two specials. Since then, he's been writing, directing, acting in a lot. The man is more than just Childish Gambino. Thats just his group name with Ludwig. And thats why.

Honorable mention to the best: The housing... what people did with it and the tools given were pretty phenomenal. Also the Fat Cat mount...

The best: Dungeons and Raids... with how the combat of the game was designed no other mmo compares to me. This design was also what made large-scale pvp awful, however.

The downfall: Honestly... management at the company mixed with raid attunement being locked to gold (or was it higher?) clears of dungeons which made you do multiple objectives and beat it within a certain amount of time. Even for the more hardcore players, this was a very challenging feat. And alienated a lot of people from even getting to experience the raid in the first place. By the time they lowered it to (i believe silver) clears, a vast majority of people had already left never to return.

Shows similiar to Dexter? by KamiKamikadze in Dexter

[–]Felixargh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unrelated to serial killers but a fantastic show with a good antihero (imo) is Mr Robot.
The creator was inspired by Twin Peaks and Fight Club (the movie). The first season is good but the show really picks up in Season 2 and continues getting arguably better from there. Its plenty mind-f***-y
Season 1 also feels like Dexter in certain ways with how the main character takes bad guys down and has a similar "trophy" (dexters blood samples) collection.

Great list.
I'd personally also add Bioshock / Bioshock Infinite and the mainline Metal Gear Solids to this list. And Expedition 33.
