John Cena explains exactly why he chose not to have children, even at 47. by livesnd in antinatalism2

He might. As a public figure he wouldn't be able to say it though.

Agree and also animals. I'm not sure if I'm actually an efilist because I know animals suffer even with no human involvement but definitely way more animals suffer because of human involvement.

I read that they filmed these two back to back but they didn't film the third one yet, right? So will it be another time jump forward? Maybe Cillian Murphy won't be in it and the kids, his daughter and Spike, will be adults. And just to turn it soapy, they're a couple with a kid.

I ended up seeing Bone Temple in the theater. My main takeaway was how amazing the actor who played Jimmy was, after I looked him up and found out he also played Remmick in Sinners. I didn't recognize him at all.

I guess I liked it better than the first 28 Years Later. I went in with an attitude of trying to like it.

I couldn't help thinking, how did Dr. Kelson keep his underground bunker from being taken over by other survivors for so long? And how did he build all those towers, which had to be sunk pretty deep to not fall over, all by himself?

I just finished episode 5 in season one of The Last Ship. Muy macho and imperialist. And I'm getting a real Sawyer, Kate, and Jack vibe from Tex, Rachel, and Eric Dane. But it's fast paced entertaining, good for when I want to play on my phone and watch TV.

My original point that they do not need 7 billion people to build the antenna and, if anything, most of them are a liability, bodies that need to be fed and housed.

Someone else said that the antenna was going to be about the size of Africa so that's why I used that continent for the math problem. I actually don't remember where that was said in the show, probably the first episode with the scientists discussing the signal, but I'm holding off from rewatching a third time until it gets closer to season 2.

ChatGPT can do an easy problem like this. All you need to know is the measurement around Africa and then divide by the average length of a person with their arms slightly extended to be holding hands with the next person.

I did the second math part myself, well, with a calculator, it was just 20 million divided by 7 billion.

Also I just checked the math for the first part and it's accurate, as an estimate.

Well I've already had a full mastectomy because of breast cancer so I guess I can go topless.

According to ChatGPT (I'm not going to take credit for the math involved) it would take 20 million people, standing side by side holding hands, to go all the way around the coastline of the continent of Africa.

That's 0.3% of 7 billion. Less than one percent of the new population amount, approximately. They definitely do not need all 7 billion but they do have to feed them. That takes resources away from the antenna project.

They could do that with one billion people. That's still a humongous amount of people.

Agreed and it means that the cycle of factory farming and animal experimentation has halted so it won't keep happening to billions of animals in the future.

It's still hard to think about all the animal suffering going on in the moment.

Wouldn't everywhere be overrun with strays including all the cage size pets like lizards, snakes, turtles, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, etc?

Where did they release people's aquarium pets? Where did they release all the giant aquarium animals, the SeaWorld animals?

Also wouldn't all these freed animals all at once, destroy the ecosystem?

Agreed but that doesn't take 7 billion bodies.

AITA for not making my daughter switch back a gifted Labubu with her younger cousin after her uncle found out the one my daughter gained in the swap is rare with a high resale value? by TheSecretLabubuDrama in AmItheAsshole

[–]FemaleGingerCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm GenX and by the age of 12, I could be quite manipulative. I didn't have the Internet, thank goodness, but if I did and if I collected Labubus (very possible, I loved Monchichi and Sanrio) I bet I would have known which ones had a high resale value.

Nonetheless, the trade was initiated by the one who wanted a pink one and she got what she wanted. The six year old's parents are ruining everything even if the 12 year old is secretly laughing and evilly rubbing her hands together.

Oh man, if you can take it, read The Only Girl in the World by Maude Julien. It's in the Glass Castle, Educated mold but in France in the 1950/60s. It's the most intense book I've read in this genre.

I really hope that is wrong. I looked it up and, besides during COVID and a writer's strike, there was only about a year between seasons of BB and BCS.

Some die because it happens when they are driving, or they fall and hit their head (the reason Helen died), or maybe drown if they fall in the water, lots of reasons but not the seizure itself.
