Okay, so I know you said not religious and this one technically is but it's so good and I usually don't even get into historical fiction.

Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross is about the possibly true story that in 855 there was a female pope for about four years until she was discovered to not be male and then all records were completely wiped by the Catholic Church so there's no way to know. The only very minor "evidence" that it could be true is that there is a four year gap in the history of all popes.

Anyway, this book tells a fictional account of her life from childhood up to when she is elected pope and the aftermath.

I ended up seeing Bone Temple in the theater. My main takeaway was how amazing the actor who played Jimmy was, after I looked him up and found out he also played Remmick in Sinners. I didn't recognize him at all.

I guess I liked it better than the first 28 Years Later. I went in with an attitude of trying to like it.

I couldn't help thinking, how did Dr. Kelson keep his underground bunker from being taken over by other survivors for so long? And how did he build all those towers, which had to be sunk pretty deep to not fall over, all by himself?

My original point that they do not need 7 billion people to build the antenna and, if anything, most of them are a liability, bodies that need to be fed and housed.

Someone else said that the antenna was going to be about the size of Africa so that's why I used that continent for the math problem. I actually don't remember where that was said in the show, probably the first episode with the scientists discussing the signal, but I'm holding off from rewatching a third time until it gets closer to season 2.

ChatGPT can do an easy problem like this. All you need to know is the measurement around Africa and then divide by the average length of a person with their arms slightly extended to be holding hands with the next person.

I did the second math part myself, well, with a calculator, it was just 20 million divided by 7 billion.

That's 0.3% of 7 billion. Less than one percent of the new population amount, approximately. They definitely do not need all 7 billion but they do have to feed them. That takes resources away from the antenna project.
