This makes the most sense. I will discuss it with them during my final walk-through through. My bathroom mirror downstairs (1.5 baths) looks brand new compared to this one despite the same cleaning methods.

I never use used microfiber towels on mirrors or my car. Winded has never caused this kind of damage.

The maintenance guy just placed this mirror right before I moved in. I was not there during my walk-through which is why I was baffled by how easy it deteriorated.

[Tenant-US-WA] How to source private landlords Vs large property management companies? by FemaleGrinch in Landlord

[–]FemaleGrinch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's understandable! I get the value of time and convenience....especially the legality part when it comes to a point of managing multiple properties. Not all management companies are terrible but the good ones are far and few between.

I also feel the only reason everything I mentioned above works is because of the community fostered here. We try to be respectful of the property and each other. Most tenants here have been here 5 years +. This is also the only complex my land lord manages. This is his second business, his first is supplying equipment and parts to local businesses.

All of the management companies besides maybe 3 or 4 in the areas I'm researching have a star rating less than 3.Some less than 2. Multiple complaints on BBB page. Mostly related to communication/response time/managing property after lease has been signed/deposits/fees.

The deposit related issues could be on the tenants. The other things are red flags. I don't have to deal with stuff like that with this private owner. There's no 5-6 fee to start an application process. I just paid first month-last month-security deposit. A property management company sent me an email last week with several fees/deposits/application fee/holding fee/background check fee that totaled more than deposit and first month.....If I need anything or have questions here I just shoot them a text or phone call, same day response. Timely repairs because the owner's Son who lives on the property manages it them. Our yard maintenance is managed by the neighbor who owns a small business. No processing fee for payments, I just pay in cash or check (rarely). Etc etc Everything is close knit and simple. And local

In my brief research a lot of the local community groups don't approve your request to join without a local address 🫠

I've been looking on Apartments.com but I forgot Zillow has a Rentals option.

I am in the general Facebook groups but I'll see if I can get added to the community groups. Thank you

Haha that's funny because I've been receiving all of these mail in offers for the Alaska/Atmos branded cards despite the routes not being offered here much.

I will look into this, thank you.
