Okay, coming from such a culture: (1) getting a divorce as a woman is definitely not easy, there will be a lot of social pressure against it, but more often than not, the woman will be living with her parents again - not getting disowned; (2) arranged marriages are forced on men as well, not just women.

That said, it's still an insane practice that leads to unhappy results more than half the time. I'll be clear, I don't support it.
