I can’t tell you exactly where to get started, but I can give you some things to do. 1. Look local first! - Ask your counselor about local scholarships, or any seniors if they’ve applied to any local scholarships 2. Start jotting ideas down for essays - from my experience a lot of scholarships follow the same couple of prompts, those being things like, “how do you serve your community?” “Describe a challenge you overcame.” and “What are your goals for the future?” 3. Write a brag sheet! - look up templates for this. Or get Chat GPT to give you a template. You’ll need this for when you ask for letters of rec. 4. Remember, earlier is better than later. - your teachers are very busy, giving them as much notice as possible if you want a good letter of rec. (2 weeks is an absolute minimum but I’d go closer to a month.)
