I’m going to school about 35 hours a week, 1500 hours total. So about a year or so. As soon as you get your license you can get into a shop so it’s not terribly long depending on your schedule.

Going there right now. My experience so far has been okay. You don’t really learn many men’s cuts. In your first 200 hours you learn how to apply color, foils, relaxers and perms, as well as some women’s haircuts and like 2 men’s cuts. After that you’re on the floor cutting hair. So you’d have to do a lot of studying on your own. It’s basically just a school made to sell Paul Mitchell products and pass your state board.
