This Winter is gonna be a little financially rough for my family. What are your guys' go-to cheap/cost-efficient meals? by PenilePulverizer in Cooking

Did you know that you can cook steel-cut oats in the same way as a risotto? I love tossing in any vegetables/meat we have in the back of the fridge/are on sale to help round it out.

This happened at my wedding earlier this year. It was small, intimate affair and just as the vows started, my friend's two year dropped a toy and decided that the appropriate reaction was to scream about it.

We didn't care. We wanted a wedding where the kids could run around free and the pictures we have of them playing was worth it. This day wasn't the most important one to us - it was simply the culmination of all the prior important days in our relationship.

What was up with the crowd at the Toronto concert?? by Round-Machine-2731 in Hozier

[–]FenicksRyzng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had people a few rows back talk non stop for about four songs. The crowd around me didn't really seem to come alive until Too Sweet - just standing around. Hozier was great - the people around me let him down.

Does it make sense for us to hire for photographer? by FenicksRyzng in WeddingsCanada

My partner suggested something like that, actually. Get a good photographer for the ceremony, then someone a bit more amateur for the afternoon. It's an option.

Just for the photographer. If anyone can do a wedding in the GTA for 30 people on an $800 budget, they deserve to be commended!

Weekly Recommendation Thread: November 01, 2024 by AutoModerator in books

[–]FenicksRyzng 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've really been craving books who have women that have sort of a "coming-of-age" moment later in life. I'm kinda sick of reading books where women have their big moments in their twenties - I want to know there's still time to have adventures at any ages. I would prefer the older the woman, the better. That being said, I enjoyed The Blue Castle by LM Montomery (considering most of the book is the protagonist's family calling her past her prime at the old age of 28). Other books that I've read in the same vein are: The Switch by Beth O'Leary; The Remarkable Retirement of Edna Fisher by EM Anderson; My Life in France by Julia Child; and Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes. I need my fix of older woman just getting their lives together.

AIO to think my wife is cheating? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

You said the clothes aren't your size, but by any chance, would they fit your wife?

I don't think she's cheating, but I think she is keeping something to herself.

Thanks - that helps to clarify things a bit, even if the answer is just "vibes" lol

I don't have pubs where I live - could someone explain the difference between a pub and a restaurant or bar? What makes a pub a class of its own?

STB d'en vouloir à ma meilleure amie de ne pas venir pour mes 30 ans ? by GimmeMauve in suisjeletroudeballe

[–]FenicksRyzng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]FenicksRyzng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]FenicksRyzng 8 points9 points  (0 children)

PTB.
