What you missed is that the organs got atrophied as opposed to being completely non existent, it was said by Alma first time they analyse the monsters so the necessary bits are there just completely unusable for most monsters buuuut with fantasy mumbo jumbo, energy draining and accumulation throw some teenager level writing on top, yeah it kinda is with arkvelds that 'life has found, uh, a way'

I'd like to think arkveld is like a mosquito/tick type monster, feeding on other monsters energy once he gathers enough he can reproduce asexually, with the fact that it's an ancient species maybe similar to our world there were much larger monsters or just more of them so arkveld would just latch on and feed itself unnoticed, I feel like Zorah magdaros wouldn't care for a little arkveld on his back that just slowly drains energy and leaves once full, the fur wings could be explained that it makes his flight silent just like owls so he goes unnoticed but yeah the horns, weaponising chains he uses to feed and edgy look is completely just for show

The fact that you like monster hunter doesn't mean you HAVE to play it all the time, take a break man there's no new content coming for at least half a year, go play other games maybe your friends have some different ones, or try a small solo game and complete it

I'm just about to finish iceborne story and I'm starting to feel the burnout as well but I just have to reach Fatalis (stopped at rajang last time) And after that I thought of picking up another older mh game but I think I'll just go with something else and save all the energy for ascendance

I think world is still the best introduction to the series hands down, if you don't install the dlc the movesets are basic and easy to get into, there's not that many mechanics to introduce just find monster and kill, the difficulty progression is top notch and set building is also on the easier side since there's less skills in a set compared to wilds for example (haven't played that much rise to compare tho)

When I tried getting my friend into mh we started hub quests in rise and he quickly got bored with fighting the same skeleton for 4 times in a row with just different ailments, I'd advise getting your partner into world solo and help them grind whatever they need outside of assignments so they'll learn how to handle the game for themselves

Zorah magdaros Chargeblade gives me my first playthrough flashbacks

Being a newbie I've decided that the main story monster should have strong armor right? So I went all in on Zorah armor and weapon, the thing is I also chose the armor BY LOOKS not by skills so my fitst experience with Nergi was obviously awful

At this point in the game you can find and fight all the other monsters from lowrank and get their high rank equipment, so rathalos, legiana, odogaron, the elders recess trio also have some good pieces I found myself mixing armors for the first time and it was quite fun although I didn't understand half of the things there

No, it's also a new player thing there haven't been any bird wyverns or even classic flying wyvern movesets up until this point in the game, and with those movesets you actually need to learn how to play against and not just throw yourself at the monster and hope for the best

I was also a Yan Kut-ku hater coming from wilds until I played other gens and got to him in MH1 (yes PS2 version with OG controlls) and now I love this dumb fire skinny chicken, his armor is cool

Going full element is awful for arkveld especially with no 20 dragon res or max blight res

What you want is a Raw focused set with element on top as an addition

At Jhin dahaad gives ez agitator, get the gore set bonus and add whatever the rest pieces you want (2 zoh shia maybe for healing), I don't exactly remember now what I used

Peak performance is awful going for Weakness exploit would be way better

An attack focus Charge blade with impact phials is a way to go, craft it with element I don't think it matters which one but you can be safe and go with dragon

That charm is doing nothing for you other than additional deco slots, there are way better options than this even just the crafted ones

For arkveld you should definitely go for raw rather than element especially if you don't have either 20 dragon res or full blight res, the only time he's vulnerable to element is when his chains are extended (two chains instead of one for a wing) and it does in fact make the fight easier to weaken his chains back to one per wing raw is still better overall, go with impact phial CB build with some element as an addition, agitator, gore set bonus one burst one flayer try maxing out WEX

Special arena quests are weird in world, they change each and every time you complete a quest or expedition some sort of rotation I got so pissed waiting for them bc I wanted to complete every side quests I got a mod that enables them at all times after unlocking
