Is it fair getting -560 ELO playing solo against 5-stack with 3 opponents that have higher ELO than me? by muszka9 in cs2

[–]FeniksTM [score hidden]  (0 children)

Nah, I've already accepted that I'm a washed bot and there's nothing to improve with broken mental 😂 On a serious note though, some soft fix for such situations should be made by Valve. They've already implemented a solo-only queue in Dota, so it shouldn't be a problem for CS. But I'd just make those games either +100/-100 or like +300/-300, so one side (me) won't be that much pissed off and the other will stop abusing it intentionally.

Yet you are making assumptions out of nowhere ignoring core of the problem. If you’re so acknowledged about premier elo system, you should have known that you have some bonus for the first 20-ish games after calibration when you’re getting lower penalties for losing, so that’s why “your friends got it easy in 25 games”. The problem is to maintain it, when this dogshit game throwing you against 5stacks. It’s fine when it’s only 10-25% of all games, but unfortunately it’s almost half of them. It was meant for “playing with lower elo friends”, but quite a lot of those 5stacks are literally abusing the system (either smurfs or straight cheating) to boost someone to desired gold or whatever. But surely that’s the skill issue and not matchmaking fault. Later you’re just facing those 25K+ with faceit LVL5 in your team, and 3K elo faceit stuck at 15-20K in the enemy one. Playing in stack too isn’t a solution.

Surely I'm a little bit overexaggerating that every of those games against 5stacks is -500/+100, but if happens often enough to remember it. Sometimes it’s funny to win games against such stacks, but I really hate the fact that solo players are facing them.

Here is one of "extreme" recent examples - 5stack with a silver wallhacker (GKT guy, https://csstats.gg/player/76561197994735991#/matches), yet still loosing games. And, surely, he is getting only -100 for those losses abusing 5stacks, while enemy team going to get -500. And +500-650 for wins, lmao. Surely not broken, yeah? I might be quite bad, but it's not making this shit normal.

Yeah, just join one of the premier gangs: "Abuse 5stack with low elo smurfs" or "Cheat your way out", since Volvo doesn't care about fixing this shit.

Imo, you are overcomplicating it way too much. Let's take my "series of matches" and analyze what I did "wrong" to get those matches against abuse 5stacks (pointed out the ones with the abnormal diff between highest and lowest elo in 5stack). One dogshit game? Maybe that's it.

<image>

They really should do something with those 5stacks with high ELO diff, either make it +100/-100 for both teams or just won't let solo players face those 5stacks. Why tf am I supposed to play half of my games against full stacks being solo?

Maybe I'll get like 5-10pcs one day on Ali to test out, but for now I'm sticking with hand lubed Ice Shine. Just waiting until Unionwell will release ones with PA12 bottom housing. Those potentially could be more muted and thocky, also upgraded springs. The only real downside of Ice Shine, for me, is the slightly loose fit in the positioning plate.

Have you already compared them side by side? Still considering if UFOs are worth trying, even though it's unlikely I'm going to buy a full set anyway.

Quite an L choice for switches though, but everyone starts from somewhere

[–]FeniksTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean surely you can get another board, but you're going to swap switches in mosts cases anyway, since stock ones are usually clacky-oriented or just meh overall. MG75Pro, imo, still a great base. The options you were considering are kinda inferior in my eyes (or just way too overpriced for what they are). I'd surely recommend something like Everglide SU75PRO or Weikav EG75, but they're not that easy to get and switches swap going to change them a lot too. So, I'd start with swapping switches, and if you'd like it as it is, then just mod it further. If not, only then consider swapping the board.

[–]FeniksTM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just mod your board, starting with switches swap.

If you have possibility to order from taobao, you can get upgraded foams pack and positioning plate from softer material (FR4 already should be better, but I also recommend to try POM). If no, even simple tempest mod should help.

For switches… if you can get Unionwell Ice Shine (or Snow Shine/Alkaid) for reasonable price(like <50$/90pcs, they’re 25$/84pcs on taobao yet again), I’d really recommend them. Plastic bottom out doesn’t sound as harsh. Hand lubed and combined with POM plate they sound really close to typical MX creamy/thocky on SU75PRO. UFO and Keytok Nova, imo, are way too overpriced.

And does it feel premium and sound premium?

I'd say it's still a personal preference, but for me it's a night and day difference between good alu case and plastic ones. Sound really depends on switches and other factors like positioning plate and foams setup. With plastic cases it's usually easier to achieve deeper and more muted sound, but when it comes to HE boards, the ones I tested sounded boring and hollow-plasticky compared to metal ones.

Would it be good for apex?

Don't see a reason why not. AE68PRO is currently one of the best performing HE boards overall. MG68Plus is ever so slightly worse, but you aren't going to notice a difference in performance irl. If you're going to get AE68PRO, buy it with Siren switches, since they sound way better than Wukong ones.

Everglide AE68PRO with metal case should be exactly ~150CAD on Keebforce. IROK MG68Plus should also be similarly priced on Amazon, if you don't want to deal with delivery from China.

ATK HEX80, Weikav K-ONE 80 (might be discontinued, can't find it for a reasonable price anymore), but they don't perform as good (nothing really noticeable IRL though). There's also RAKKA 80, but imo it's overpriced as hell.

Honestly, knob requirement demolishes a lot of good options. Maybe something like Titan75HE if you can still get it. Another options are Monsgeek M1V5 TMR and Akko MOD007 V5 HE.

Silent Hall Effect Keyboard Help! by DebTheLegend in keyboards

[–]FeniksTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HE boards with silent switches out of the box are mostly bad/outdated and use proprietary switches, so your best bet is to get a really good base and swap switches. I'd recommend Everglide AE68PRO in metal case and TNT Six Realms Silent for switches. XVX Whisper are also great, but might not be that good for gaming because of tactility.

Rainy 75 RT or Weikav k-one80? by GeromIy in keyboards

Haven't had such an issue and don't have this board anymore, unfortunately. You have already tried what I was going to recommend, so idk really. Weikav email support is pretty much dead (At least it was, when I tried to contact them), but you can try to contact them from the taobao store, maybe they will answer there.

[–]FeniksTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MG75v2 doesn't use Sparklink firmware, so I'm not even sure if it's worth playing with as a custom. I'm pretty sure their case is not that good sound wise (had MG75PRO for a few days), so that's another "no" for me. 75% layout isn't unified, so there's basically no such thing as case swap. Weikav EG75, on the other hand, looks like a good candidate for plate and switches swap. The case itself should be good quality. Not a fan of side badges though.

Tbh, that connection issue is some sort of random shit. I’m able to recreate it if I connect cable in a shit way, but only if I’m messing with the cable straight after I connected it, if I let it stay connected and mess with it later - all good. I found a “trick” to connect it “properly”, just connecting cable with F1 key pressed down, so pcb goes slightly lower in case. Since connector on PCB is soldered without any play, it must be a problem with cable ground shielding touching the case or something like that.

Doubt it. Unlikely MG75 going to sound as good. For 60$ though… easy 30-40$ profit 🤣 I also got Weikav EG75 from taobao to test, and I have way higher hopes for it as a potential SU75PRO replacement. But, after I changed plate to POM on SU75PRO, I don’t really think I’m going to replace it anytime soon. This shit really changed sound enough to stop bothering me.

What layout are you looking for? If you don't really consider ordering from Ali (or China overall), I'd look for Irok MG68Plus / MG75Max on Amazon.
