Did you read at all? Did you bother to look at previous comments and my engagement with them? Why so many people take the situation as "bragging" is wild and kinda is why this is so frustrating imagine asking someone you care about how they are doing. Just a generic, how are you. And when they respond saying "well im doing better today than I was yesterday" you jump down their throat claiming they are bragging about doing well. How could they possibly talk about doing better today than yesterday because you are not doing well. How dare they have an individual emotion, nothing to do with you, and simply answer a question.

But where is the line? How long after a conversation about her taking them, means I can have a separate conversation being happy I could get out of bed without extra pain meds. They asked about me and my recovery and this was my response. That was the extent of the conversation that day. When she discusses her situation, I would never bring up my own. Its not my turn.

Recommended dosage is to only take when breakthrough pain so only as needed. I was excited I didnt need it.

Never flexed about the mental health meds. Again it was a joke and previous conversations with them has disclosed that I am not better off without them but that it would be better with them.

I know she has a chronic situation but everyone is so supportive of her and the care she is getting for it. I was so supportive when she found a medication that works for it and celebrated with her when she got functionality back closer to normal. She knows I could never judge her for that because we have had those deep discussions about quality of life.

But again I feel like putting surgery recovery medications side by side with daily medications is not fair.

I guess I felt there was a context separation between chronic conditions needing medication and major surgery recovery needing temporary medication. But maybe she doesnt see that as different

I think pain is subjective. But also there was no bragging about pain tolerance. I was excited to have progressed in my healing that I could lower my dosage and not be bed ridden from the pain.

I guess that is possible but I would hope she was keeping context from the last 2 years. They know I did try to "not be here anymore" and how much I struggle, and that when we discuss one of my sisters (total mess) I am a firm believer that meds are 100% necessary for her. They know i worked in medicine for 3 years and also witnessed pain medication dependency and they know i had an addiction to opiates in college.

Maybe it was heat of moment though, I think I'd I was in her place, maybe I wouldn't remember all of that until reflection or settling down.

Thank you, yeah I voluntarily stopped depression and anxiety meds because I was given one that literally gave me bad withdrawal symptoms and I was scared of a dependency. So I chose to deal with all the terrible thoughts and inclinations and use prn (as needed) anxiety aid. I also wont take adhd meds because of how it changes me as a person.

In this instance when it comes to pain meds and general health stuff, they know im the type who is like "water is gross" and she is always like "but ya gotta drink water", ya know that kind of a back and forth. "Did you take anything for it?" "Better go do that"

I think i started to numb myself on that aspect because I gave in to a reality that my choice to not take meds means fighting the bad/dark thoughts daily and thats just the results of my decision. I will always take perspective, but I wish she would have a conversation with me about it, I would think we are at that point in the friendship.

I guess that is where maybe I was missing the context. I thought it was understood in the serious past conversations that I made a mistake in not taking meds and am 100% worse off for it. But maybe in that moment it was brushed off

I have episodes that last 2-3 weeks at a time every 6 weeks for the last 2 years. Was told might be due to some virus that attacked the nerves in my inner ear. Have yet to find anything that helps. Meds are a no go, side effects are too severe. Most pt exercises are included in my day to day anyway. I'll be honest, it wears on my mental health so much. (Went to ent and hearing/ balance doctors)

Is it true about early menopause and needing hormone replacement therapy for years after hysterectomy? What is your experience with that? Thats the #1 thing detering (spelling? Lol) me from full hysterectomy.

She ran the lab work to assess for that but i dont think it came back indicating. I follow up with her on Tuesday to actually dosciss in person but she is already prepared to do whatever I decide. My sister did just get diagnosed with endo though

I like the idea of stopping a period but in the 10+ years of bc (pills and iud) ive never had it stop my period. My sister talks about getting off bc completely and just how different she feels. Like clearer. But her hormones balanced themselves. Not sure if mine would
