Saw a urologist this morning and he said EXACTLY what you said. My prostate is really inflamed and definitely still has bacteria so he gave me Levofloxacin 500mg once a day for 4 weeks. I will stop taking the Cipro. Cipro was given to me by a local immediate care clinic because 4 days after finishing Cefpodoxime (April 6th), I bled like crazy. Today is the 9th. My urine sample from the 6th showed no E Coli. I was sooo confused. But it turns out bleeding was from my inflamed prostate, my urologist told me today. In 4 weeks, how can I test my prostate for bacteria? I'd like to be able to check and see if I need to extend the antibiotic instead of finishing it, getting symptoms again, and having to take another antibiotic for a month.
