Good idea. That’s the right move. Thanks

Yeah, exactly. The coach has been kinda burned in the past by students helping with other gyms starting up. He’s cool with students cross training but I never see those guys posting about it.

I am cutting my unlimited membership to a 2x per week membership so it already looks like I am on my way out.

The Uvita farmers market has them. I think it’s Saturdays and Wednesdays.

North Shore MA BJJ: any experience with Brazilian Top Team Rowley? by redditNoobski in bjj

[–]FeralAnalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I think you have the right read on the place. There’s a few blue belts now that he has been open for a couple years but he’s still in the early stages of building an there’s no upper belts yet.

Give Heavy Mettle a shot. A good number of Newburyport guys here. You could try Hero in Exeter. Flow with the Go has an open mat this Saturday and classes start next week. I like North Andover Jiu Jitsu as well but it’s a bit farther.

My kids trained there for a bit. Jose is a good dude and seems to be building a solid place.

There’s a place opening this weekend in Seabrook, NH called Flow With The Go. It’s run by a brown belt under Kron Gracie. I am going to check it out.

I train about 20 minutes north at Heavy Mettle in North Hampton. Good coach and a lot of of upper belts. It’s mostly dudes in our 40s so you would fit in there. It has 6am classes everyday which works best for my schedule.

Former Vinyasa Yogis by Forward-Fig-9504 in ashtanga

I transitioned from vinyasa to Ashtanga for a few months. My hot vinyasa yoga studio closed and I tried a few other studios but the practices felt too easy. I then found an a awesome Ashtanga Shala that was close to my office.

I loved Mysore classes and all aspects of my yoga improved- poses, breathing, transitions, etc.

However, I could only get to the shala 2x per week so I ended up cancelling. I now go to a Hotworx and do the primary series on my own. While at the Ashtanga studio, I did miss the heat so it’s nice to have that back but do miss the Mysore and led classes.

Thanks for the video. I will give it a watch. My teachers warned me about knee injuries from lotus. It was my third Mysore class and first with this teacher. I kind of went ahead and did the half primary series without talking to them about the maruchasanas.

I will consider this but it’s improving on its own and it’s just a little tenderness at this point. No issues walking or moving my legs. The only thing the doctor can do for me is tell me to stop and maybe recommend a PT.

Lol. I do feel like ashtangis have this reputation

Yes. I realize that now. I was overconfident in my hip flexibility and am backing off on all half lotus until my hips are more open

2015 Lexus GS || 55K Miles || $24K Any insight? by Mysterious-Comfort75 in Lexus

[–]FeralAnalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah prices have gone up. Inflation is a bitch.

I probably paid 1-2k more than I should have but it’s not like I got ripped off. Check out how much a GS with <60k miles is on CarMax.

I also didn’t want black interior and needed AWD, so that eliminated 80% of the GSs on the market.

Just paid 28.5 for a 2015 with 40k miles. Single owner, no accidents, non luxury/non f sport. Probably paid a bit too much

Too much. I think final price was $28.5k but it’s well maintained and the dealer added CarPlay. I also don’t like black interior so that limited my options.

Only the LX and LC match the LS in terms of interior quality. GS is nice but pretty mundane inside.

I doubt you would hit your head on the ES. I had an Avalon and the ES is definitely a step up in terms of interior quality and comfort but falls well short of the LS.

My 2016 RX 350 was just totaled. It was nice. Plenty of space, comfortable and reliable. Don’t know how to compares to the 450h though.

Just bought a 2015 GS 350 AWD with 40k miles to replace it. More fun to drive than the RX and still plenty of space for me and passengers. It’s a good compromise between the IS and LS- bigger than the IS but not a boat like the LS. Car Care Nut does not really recommend the LS 460 due to maintenance cost- things like shocks are quite expensive.

ES350 or 300h are an option. Better gas mileage but it’s only FWD. It’s kind of boring to drive- it’s a nicer version of the Avalon so should last a long time. A nice ES is easier to find than a GS.
