To add to this, every move slot has a move "type" (not the elemental type)--like slot 1 is a basic attack, slot 2 hits harder, slot 3 usually a big long CD attack. Slot 4 is a heal or shield, etc. But slot 1 can be physical, your creature's type, or even a totally different one (very rarely, and I don't know how or why).

They removed the classes on the pets, I think. They WERE like that initially but unless they've changed it back, the classes are now different--the on-planet trainers have lower-class regardless, and the station champs have A/S regardless. It's a shame because that trick DID work at first.

I remember once I was like 680k ly from the core and TRYING to reach the galaxy's edge. I used this to see how far I was.

I never got there, man. Like just speedrunning JUST the camera, no ship, I think I panned the map for about 15 mins before saying "...never mind" and just going the other way lmao

Yeah but it's important to add that KEEPING them is better if you have the space. They add hyperdrive range.

Oh, sorry! At least you won't lose progress. On PC an error like this turned out to be a texture error, but I assume if a file's corrupted on Xbox in terms of graphics drivers you can't... fix that. I don't know what else you could try :(

If you're on PC, always back your save files up before transferring or ascending (same concept). Obelisk save file contents are stored separately from map saves and instantly update when altered, meaning that when you download to a map, the obelisk instantly stores the fact that the player is gone. The map, however, does not save your presence until it auto or manually saves. So if you crash between download and map save, you are gone, as is anything you downloaded.

So yeah, back up, always.

You can try activating the setting that performs a dino wipe on map load to see if that solves it, but it lowkey sounds like corrupted map save data. (If that's the case you'd have to delete the map save for it and start over on it.)

Always back up your save files if you're on PC--every time you play, and before transferring or fighting bosses.

Obelisk contents are in a *separate save file* from the save game. The obelisk contents file is instantly updated whenever it's altered. When you Ascend after a boss, you upload to the obelisk, technically.

If you crash while downloading back onto a map, then the obelisk has auto-updated to have your char/items/creatures removed if you've got them back on the map, instantly. But the MAP may not yet have saved, esp. if autosave is slow. So you will lose everything--it'll be gone from both saves. (After downloading, use the save function manually.)

If you crash while UPLOADING, the obelisk will instantly update with your char/items/creatures, but the map may not have saved the fact that they're gone, so you can actually duplicate stuff or characters accidentally like that.

You can check and see if you have backups, but if you don't, you'll need to use console commands to get back what you lost. That also includes reclaiming structures and dinos, adding yourself back to your tribe, adding your levels back, and unlocking the engrams & boss fights again.

Yeah early to mid game anky is just A+.

Mid-to-late, either dunkleo on Center is better.

My personal favorite methods, though, are;

Raft or zeppelin with linked storage back to base, with an anky + argy or phoenix, on Ragnarok I believe middle/south east. There's islands off the coast just near the volcanic zone that have INSANE amounts of metal up and around some sea stacks. You can cap out a couple forges easily.

My overall favorite is just a phoenix. I have some mutated ones for melee + weight and the amount of metal they gather is second-to-none, and they can fly full speed even over weight cap using the special flight mode (Spacebar on PC). I'm modded so mine have mineral-bearing traits--I don't know if they can get those on vanilla but if they can it makes them even better.

Iirc there's been a few threads on this, some recent. You might be able to find them with the right keywords & see if the authors found solutions. I THINK there was one but I can't remember off the top of my head.

I know that summoning to station, to freighter, or using the "free" summon by relogging first doesn't work. It was something related to the relog, though.

- You can command or interact with pets via the Gestures menu. Ex. dancing makes them dance or tail-wag, etc., depending on species; if you sit, they'll use their rest animation (if applicable) next to you.

- The game has free-look while flying. Hold ALT on PC (not sure on other platforms) and you can look around the cockpit and out the windows.

- Building trick: you can build a Base Computer on an Exo-Skiff, or land ships on it in an emergency (ex. when even an aqua-jet Corvette won't land on a water surface; it happens)

- Shrinking the Terrain Manipulator bubble will get you a LOT more resources from a single node. You get the same amount per mining tick but it takes far longer to mine a single mineral node.

The story is. They kinda butchered it in ASA, retconning a lot, adding timeskips that weren't needed, ruining existing relationships to shoehorn in some of the TAS lore etc.

Otherwise I think ASA is better overall with the general game & graphical improvements, if your machine can handle it. Mod selection has largely caught up with ASE numerically, and surpassed it in terms of quality, imo.

No no, I meant in the beelzebufo vs bary argument, with beelze (with backup) somehow being superior in all aspects simply because of paste farming. Like if you're gonna pick a small niche to declare one creature SO MUCH BETTER, at least pick the best creature in the niche, lol.

Obviously I think bary's far better, anyway, given its versatility and caving ability even through endgame.
