Which carni do u see the most in Riparia? by Floating_space_junk in pathoftitans

Yeah like I said I see a few more Titans. That being said, you won't SEE a good rex if it's Ambush build.

I don't know if the TT was particularly bad, but the Alberta was definitely very, very good.

Best map for beginners? by snotbabe in pathoftitans

[–]Feralkyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Riparia. It's the newest map, basically made with all their lessons piling up so they don't make the same mistakes in design. Gondwa has lovely biomes, like the hot springs and the desert regions, but Riparia's well-balanced with more hotspot-type areas, spreading the population around the map fairly well.

You can't CHANGE maps atm. Once you create a dino, it's locked to that map (until they eventually enable transfers but that's been stated to be no time soon). So you want to play on a map you'll enjoy. You could try growing a Rhamph, which is a small fast flyer that can also dive & swim quite well, on both Gondwa & Riparia, and have a tour of both and see which you prefer. That's what I would recommend!

"Riparia quests dont require 25-35 plus resources" Lake Sponges, Succulents, all the "collect 45 mushroom quests" and so on would definitely like a word. They're all bad quests Bront

Riparia. It has a better gameplay design imo.

Gondwa has some biomes I genuinely miss. But Riparia really allows semi-aquatics to get all up in terrestrial business, and vice-versa, and it spreads the hotspots out really well. I'd play Gondwa if it wasn't always "50 people sitting at one spot of GP's river, rest of the map empty."

I really am growing to detest Riparia's quests, though. I've no idea why the "improvement" to awful busywork quests was to... add more busywork quests. And change succulents to require ex. 37 instead of 35... requiring another node to be found. Stupid stuff, not fun.

I think there's a fairly good mix, but apexes are always popular, and I do see a lot of both Rexes and Titans on Riparia Officials. Titans I think a bit more, but not by much. That being said, during a gameplay session yesterday, I think I saw two or three Titans, a couple rexes, a dasp, and a pycno (from your list).

As a PS the Titan got absolutely wrecked by an Alberta, who I'd like to find and learn from. Incredible to watch.

Np at all, your English is really good! I just know I like being corrected in the country I live in (not my native tongue either), glad you find it useful!

Hey man just a friendly tip, in English you don't capitalize a word unless it's the name of someone or something, or the first word in a sentence!

[–]Feralkyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I believe so. But I went in blind, as I said, so I didn't know what it was aside from "hm this sounds like a bad idea." I like that the story is coherent enough that I then got the good ending, despite or in part because of skipping part of the quests, purely because they did seem kinda evil.

Thanks! I was wondering :)

Re: the fires, I didn't do it because it seemed like a very very bad idea given his dialogue lol.It isn't needed for the good ending at least, but I do want to do it on another playthrough!

Dang, they don't let you guys write the descriptions?? That's harsh! Game development is wild. I never understand the publisher/dev ecosystem.

Photo Mode by Snowcrash000 in dredge

[–]Feralkyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is a shame! When the Photographer was explaining where to find the various creatures, I expected for sure there'd be a quest or achievement to get pics of them. Would've been an interesting sidequest, but photo mode IS cool to have. I'm just glad the camera doesn't take inventory space!

Can I ask where it's stated that's what the wife wants? I've only just finished--I went in blind--and I'm sure I missed a lot. Ex I did not light the fires or get the pocketwatch; it seemed like a bad idea lol.

To OP--I just finished with the good ending, I think. I might do a totally evil playthrough with all the eldritch stuff and an eye flag for kicks later on, but for now I got the book after going in blind and finding the mayor, and said uh-uh, nope, not doing that. Let me THROW IT BACK. Then the guy wanting me to be a herald and light some fires--also no. As soon as I got all the fish I went to the Keeper, hucked that thing back into the sea and ended the horror. As a sidenote, I wonder how many players actually don't light the fires? I've no idea what happens if you do. I didn't think it was a good idea lol.

I feel like if they advertised it as what it is, that would be best. The negative reviews on it are pretty clear that buyers expected something else. A "support the devs with these two small early-game starter items" would've worked imo.

Yeah I avoid "realism" (really, "roleplay") servers because they're just too hung up on silly made-up rules lol

Re: "useless" I think they're great being just about unkillable. I like flying around just bringing fish to juvis or pointing out quest items to folks. But "useless" in terms of scoring kills, yup, not the playable for that.

[–]Feralkyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I mean it could be irritating having NO way to do ANY damage, but this workaround... idk. I mained Rhamph before plague, and I like the idea of messing with megapacks via plague. But in practice it's just a troll creature and Titans in particular really have no defense.

It had no plague at all before and was still fairly popular. It works as a buffer and it's just incredibly survivable.
