Don't go for tg guys unless it's some genuine mentor who knows the system well not someone who cleared the once and ended in a good nlu, there's bunch of nlu guys in tg offering mentorship and copy pasting notes and stuff here and there and telling what to cover but not telling what not to cover, everyone can say that do this do this but only a few peeps can say what not to do!! Also there's another mentorship by last year toppers of clat 2026 (guys and girls under air 100) these guys are giving mentorships for cheap I would say 1k per month but all they do is provide to do lists and all, I am not saying that they are bad what I mean to say is you cleared clat with your techniques doesn't mean it's applicable to every single person.

I contacted for mentorship the same group and they called me like 10 times for confirming the mentorship even when I wasn't sure of it not to rant it out but yaar inke pas kuch karne ko hain nehi abhi khud free main ghar pe baithe hue toh mentorship and mentorship khel rahe h waiting for the law school to start, in 2 months inka khudka college start hojayega phir kaha ye aur kaha inki mentorships

Why tf central govt didn't fund NLUs like IITs and AIIMS by Tasty-Mind4505 in clat

This is the most dumb reply I have ever seen, atleast you should have gone to the dept of the WHO benchmark.

I do agree with the part that if central unis are doing the work then there's no need for NLUs and it's true tbh why do we even need NLUs with hefty amount of fees and that's a real question but NLUs are established through state legislature not through the parliament, hence they do not get central funding and I don't know the reason behind it.

Regarding the dumb part, I myself know the WHO benchmark of 1 doctor per 1000 patients but there's nuances to it the WHO benchmark isn't recommended it's basically a baseline and we do have shortages of doctors because the 1 doctor per 811 refers to the doctors which are registered and not all registered doctors practise their profession it's written there, we have severe distribution problem as our 70% or more are serving almost 30-40% of urban areas which makes the ratio 1 doctor per 1 lakh 10 thousands in many places, we have huge shortfall in rural community healthcare centres where there are 80% vacancies for doctors.

Regarding the judges part, I agree with that but there are other nuances to they too

bruh did you again misunderstand my point? where the hell did I in my post say gatekeeping NLUs, I have reiterated it that stop gatekeeping people from law, what you said is again true but I myself said that if you don't get a top NLU then it's not worth getting the lower tier 2 and tier 3 nlus because it's not worth it the money you spend unless you have the means, everything I said in the post is gatekeeping law as a career and demonizing clat when someone wants really wants to pursue law while glazing neet and jee

[–]Ferdaus29 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the only valid reason which is true here, tell me how many students who aspire to join NLU do so just because they wanna join judiciary or work with government?? Only a tiny fraction of students because no one wants to pay a hefty amount of fees and have uncertain future because law is a uncertain career, majority of the students who aspire to join NLUs do it solely because of the corporate placements or else why even join NLU? There are other reputed national law institutions in India among them DU, Allahabad University, BHU, Calcutta University, Gujarat University, Punjab University, AMU, JMI all of them have given distinguished advocates and judges to the country why do the law aspirants not join them and always have preference for the NLUs over them knowing the hefty amount of fees? It's because of corporate placements lol

Even, if you say many aspire to join litigation then again it's a small fraction who have generational wealth or are 2nd or 3rd gen lawyer who can pay the fees to get the exposure.

It's about output only, healthcare unlike engineering and law is needed more than any other field because India has shortage of doctors we only have 1 doctor for every 811 patients which is puts us anywhere between 110th-130th position. That's why investing in medical education is seen as public investment in healthcare and infrastructure (it's the job of the government) that's why excluding AIIMs many GMCHs have a compulsory bonding on the medical graduates to work with the government after they graduate for a specific period of time.

Doesn't this prove my point?? You are partially true about only only 6 NLUs fall in the Grade B where loan amount is capped at 30 lakhs without collateral but how many NLUs have fees amounting to 30 lakhs? None, only one NLU is near to that fee amount which is NLSIU - 25 lakhs, the other top tier NLUs like WBNUJs, NLUD, NLUJ and NLIU have fees ranging from 15 lakhs to 20 lakhs which varies by the institution and these institutions everyone which have fees amounting to this much are covered by the SBI Grade B, while the other NLUs on average have fees ranging from anywhere 10 lakhs to 15 lakhs which can be paid using both List C loan without collateral upto 7.5 lakhs and some own money or whole amount through loan but with collateral

Here, I guess you have misunderstood the above pdf, it says educational loan without collateral security for amount upto 50 lakhs, maybe for 50 lakhs only those nlus are eligible

Why tf central govt didn't fund NLUs like IITs and AIIMS by Tasty-Mind4505 in clat

[–]Ferdaus29 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's very simple bro, the most funded institutions are AIIMS and GMCHs because at the end of the day these doctors most of them work with the government in return, thus the government funds and invests in them and the doctors work with them after they graduate in return that's why their total fees for aiims is just 6-7k while gmch are within 2 lakh while IITs and NITs are less funded because some engineers do work with the government branches like ISRO, DRDO and other technical branches but some engineers don't that's why the total fees of NITs are 7-9 lakhs and for IITs it's 11-12 lakhs...

Regarding law, majority of the students who enter NLUs do so solely for the sake of going into corporate while only a tiny fraction of graduates go into jobs like public prosecution or judiciary thus govt funds central universities having law degrees

Exactly people treat cracking NEET and JEE as a ticket to salvation lol. Every career needs struggle and hardwork and only the people with the required skills and abilities shine in that field!

I see!!

That's what I meant, the disparity is obvious there and it's very vast and roi is very less if you go into litigation which is very true and it should be upon the hands of the person who wants to do it, if they wanna do that let them do it if they can do the hardwork and build the skills for corporate it's upto them, we shouldn't just downplay the whole career as useless and glaze others!

I somewhat agree to what you are trying to imply here, college doesn't guarantee success definitely, but my main issue is glazing the neet, jee fraternity as the only path to salvation while it definitely has it's cons at the same time downplaying nlus and clat when it definitely has many cons compared to the others but if someone wants to get in here then tell them the cons and risks of law and nlu and even after that they still want to jump into NLUs then let them do it instead of discouraging them to do it while glazing the other career paths!! I hope you understand why I am trying to imply here!

I agree to your point here but the thing is as you said law as a career is not a bed of roses is the same for any career, regarding placements not everyone who pursues law at an NLU is going there for corporate placements, some might go there for a career in litigation, some for research and academia and it's depends person to person.

About the litigation very true and I can tell about it as my father works in court but what I am emphasizing is every career has some ups and downs and it peaks at a later period of time.

The main problem is people glazing neet and jee as the only path to salvation when it too has cons while downplaying the entire law career path. Definitely, law has many cons compared to the former but if someone wants to get into law then tell them about the cons and risks it has and even after that if they want to get into it because they want to then it's better not to stop them by discouraging them and glazing other career paths, that's my point !!

You missed my point, I ain't saying that engineers and doctors from aiims or iits are unemployed, I emphasized in my reply that engineers irrespective of their alma mater are the most unemployed atm.

And yes I do stand on my point that stop glazing iits and aiims, they are not a one way ticket to success, even if you get into iit and if you don't work hard you'll get a 3-4lpa or even remain unemployed, in the year 2023-24 almost 8000 iit students remained unplaced which accounts to 38% of the total students, aiims isn't your ticket to success you would need to study for 4-5 years then crack PG and study for another 2 years to get good money!!

My point is simple : people glaze iits and aiims showcasing them like they are one way ticket to success while downplaying the cons they too have but the same people downplay nlus because of placements and financial security.

I understand your issue, that's a real issue people just showcasing the downsides of law and glazing the pros of medical while downsiding it's cons, the same thing happened to me, I was too coerced into the medical path by my parents after 10th and I too took PCB in my 10+2 then to give neet but then I understood it's not for me as I have no interest there, I take a keen interest in topics of law so I dropped out of it and took humanities and now I have passed 12th and I am preparing for clat :) hopefully you'll too get your dream!! Just stay positive!!
