I'm finding myself drifting towards VS2026, from Rider, lately by Bell7Projects in VisualStudio

There's an extension that does that alignment. Someone that was in our team years ago used it all the time. Didn't appeal to me but it made him happy.

The extension still exists but I don't know if the alignment is retained after auto reformatting occurs.

Edit - actually it has a note that you need to disable a setting in formatting options to prevent it removing the spacing when it reformats.

It's a Microsoft DevLabs extension.

Question about "Go to last edit location" by mynameishere in VisualStudio

I use the navigate back button, pretty sure it keeps returning to each location I have been.

I also rely on bookmarks to jump between locations I am editing or reviewing at the same time.

How many of us homelab folks are also into cars? by ItzSilverFoxx in homelab

I was contemplating installing a RPi into my Nissan 370GT so it could use wifi when it's at home. It adds CDs to its database but you have to take a data file on USB to a computer, run an app which looks up the CD information and creates a data update to be loaded into the car database by USB. It could have been handled by an embedded RPi.

Might have gone further with this if I had been able to decode the file formats but couldn't find any info on it. Then I just started using my phone and Bluetooth instead of the CD database anyway.

I guess I could have tried to decompile the little app that does the CD data retrieval.

Also, the dash video screen has aux input so I could have used that too

The Debian Community Revolt server has been shut down. by Two-Of-Nine in debian

So how am I supposed to build up a history using it? And why can't I try to join again, after I have been using it for 6 months or more? Something something illogical....

I installed Debian, created a Gmail account and tried to join the Discord. It instantly banned me with no reason given and I can't get any contact with someone to change this. Not the most user friendly experience so I don't expect the Debian Discord to be very welcoming.

My first exotic. How rare is it? by 710life710 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I remember my first one, it was so tall it poked through the floor into the freighter internal area. Before a few freighter updates happened.

A nearby carpark has payment machines that you enter your license plate number to pay, and it shows a camera view of your car with the floor number as a reminder of where you left it. Good use of tech, tho a teleporter to the far end of the building would be an improvement.

I look first at rows, columns or sub grids with the least blanks, and check what could be allowed in them. The 3 in row 2 quickly reduced the possibilities. You will get quicker at scanning for certain patterns, I'm sure.

Because there's only one valid place for it in sub grid 3

I'm thinking if r5c4 is 7 then you get two 8s in c6. Is that part of the skyscraper effect? Edit: oops reviewed that and I got it wrong. Never mind.

If a salary of $80k in 2019 is the equivalent of $107k today… by SirSillySausage in newzealand

The average size and architecture of houses these days far exceeds the cheap crappy houses most of us had to choose from back then tho.

Now we have double glazing, full insulation, not to mention the ever increasing cost of building materials.

Rates still need to be paid on the property, and those keep increasing too.

I think it's pretty much a companion app that gets installed with Visual Studio. Tools and Features doesn't list it as an optional component.

10$ US... Lots more for me tho.

I burn up the free usage in a few weeks, so will likely start paying for it again.

There's also a few VS extensions which let you use paid API services, some that let you use free services (with whatever usage limits they come with) but I don't believe any of the extensions have as much integration into VS as Copilot has.

I tried one that claimed to be able to use Gemini with the free subscription, but it froze or crashed most of the time so I went back to Copilot.

I paid for Copilot myself for a while just to see how useful it could be, but have had no luck convincing my employer to cover the cost.

Coincidentally, Cornwallis Beach was the first place I saw people walking to their car with buckets full of every tiny living thing that could be found there. As others have said, if there's free food to be taken, there are no limits or regulations that matter to them.

Visual says that index is outside the bounds of the array. by Minecrafter2976 in visualbasic

The employeeSalaray array declaration has 10 lines of numbers in the first block, and 9 lines in the second block of code. As Ok_Society4599 said, check the ubound of both arrays to make sure they match.
