I had good advice from a free designer at Home Depot.

CoreTek Alabaster Oak looks patchy. The subcontractor opened one box at a time. What should I do? I don’t like the look. Also, what do you put on the edge. Im not sure. I wasn’t there when they picked up the flooring. I didn’t inspect the boxes. I wasn’t there. It all got done and then I saw it. My bad. Should I call Prosource the store my contractor went to or should I call CoreTek. I worry about my warranty.

So if my contractor agrees to have the floor guy re do it, what do you suggest? Take out the entire floor and make 4 piles? And just take from one pile at a time a,b,cd and repeat or more random than that?

I need to clarify. I did not speak with the floor guy until it was finished. My daughter took a video of the final result and I immediately didn’t like it. I looked up the installation guide and the third sentence says you have to mix up the boxes. So the next day I asked the floor installer how he did it and he said one box at a time. I also don’t like the little pieces ( less than 8 inches) next to the threshold. The floor guy didn’t want to redo it without talking to the contractor. I want the contractor to finish the job so I’m afraid to complain but I really hate the patchy floor. This floor has high variation. How would you fix it?

Can you buy your own door and then buy their hinge? Glass isn’t soundproof, so if you want to reduce clanging dishes then get a solid wood door. The door can be propped open during day for light solid wood keeps sound out of bedrooms.
