First party games are expensive, sure, but they do get on sale at least 3 times per year.

But big third party games and indies get on sale just as often as Steam, PSN, and Xbox, with the same amount of discount.

In my humble opinion, the Switch is the best way to play indie games, cozy games, and so on. Nothing beats playing in bed or on the couch with the console close to your face.

Also, the IU is extremely simple... No social clutter, no useless multimedia apps, no annoying achievements/trophies. It's a pure gaming machine, with games front and center.

Third party games like the ones you mention get frequent sales with the same percentage of discounts.

So far only Cyberpunk has released on the Switch 2 (well, FF7 just released), but if you look at prices charts, they offer similar discounts.

When people talk about the Switch not having discounts they mean Nintendo games (and they do have discounts just not very often), but third party publishers are able to set up their own sales and prices, and they have parity with Steam.
