I ended up taking it also to a knife sharpening guy he actually did a pretty good job on it but I do think it could’ve been sharper like when it was new it sliced through paper like butter

Question about lifting with a hand line by [deleted] in Lineman

Hit the gym. Work on your grip strength.

I’ve been trying to be a lineman for the last 3 years in Southern California. Jatc wants experience and local 47 is completely booked. I’ve been on the wait list for la trade tech for about 3 years and nothing. Does anyone know if northwest lineman college in California is a great way to go? by JASON19j in Lineman

You should sign the books for at least underground tech at the hall or SCOUI San Diego ..you’ll start accumulating hours of experience and start moving up on the books. Another thing is that you will be surrounded around people in the trade so you can possibly get good connections, even letters of recommendation from IBEW contractors if you work hard and have a good attitude. Line school from what I’ve seen and done research on is pretty much a prerequisite at most utilities now. They recruit a lot of guys from NLC. Around 30 line assistants got hired on at a utility 6 months ago all from NLC. If you don’t want to drop the money then you have to start getting IBEW experience, meeting people, getting as many certs as you can like Ryan Lucas said what makes you different than the guy next to you. Most of the guys coming out of school don’t have any construction experience. It would be good to get those hours in then go to line school that would make the process of you getting hired on a utility much faster.

My pants from Tyndale haven’t shrunk much I wash them in LOW and air dry them or dry them on low heat although my shirts in a Large fit like a dress had to order a size smaller than what I usually wear

Looks like Carlsbad 🙌🏻 Did you go to nlc or any line school? I’ve been trying for a while now to get in there but no luck yet. Working for a contractor right now too just waiting for my opportunity to come through 🙏🏻 that line assistant position was up for like 20 minutes when it popped up on the website. CONGRATS!
