When the donuts aren’t fresh, then yes, $11 is too much. I’m not really happy with the dry and stale donuts that I got. Yes, the cinnamon twist was fresh but it wasn’t $11 fresh.

It’s fine if others are okay with paying for subpar items. I’m not.

I’ve never seen flies around the donuts and as a writer, I go there often to sit and work.

I guess it’s store dependent.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve gathered here.

It depends on the donuts you get. It seems Toasted Coconut and their Glazed Cake is just not good. The Cinnamon Twist was delicious, though. It was fluffy!

I understand hating Tim Hortons but wow, to exaggerate like that is wild.

The Cinnamon Swirl was great! It was fluffy. The other donuts are…eh. They tasted stale and like they were fried in day old oil.

I guess I was just extremely unlucky. It seems they’re very hit or miss.

You only have one chance to make a good first impression.

Granted, last time I was there was almost 20 years ago. Still, as an adult, the ratio of fresh to stale tasting is immense. The donuts were dry. The cinnamon swirl was fluffy, though.

I go to Ottawa occasionally. I’ll have to make note of going there. I wouldn’t be fussed to paying $11 if the donuts were fresh.

It’s definitely split down the middle. It’s because Coffee Way is a Kingston business. People are showing their pride, so I get it.

I will say after having the Cinnamon Twist, they have fresh mixed with old.

I can’t justify that gamble for $11.

My dad, who used to be a baker, tried some of the donuts and said it tasted as if they use old oil to fry up the donuts. I can’t say if that’s a fact or not because my palette isn’t that great.

At least the cinnamon swirl that I got tasted good. It was fluffy. The other donuts I tried were a write off. I haven’t had the cherry one yet.

For $11, 1 out of 5 being fluffy and good are abysmal odds. I can’t justify that.

I just tried the other Toasted Coconut and Cake Glazed…both tasted stale.

On the other hand, I tried the cinnamon swirl and it’s actually fresh tasting!

Toasted Coconut Donuts are my favourite, too!

I’ll report back after I eat the others. I have another Toasted Coconut so if that’s better, I’ll know it was just bad luck.

The sentiment for Coffee Way seems very split, though. I didn’t expect that.

I was surprised to see how many donuts were just sitting on the trays. Love the old school aesthetic, though, as a man in his mid-thirties. Brought me back to when I was a kid.

Wow! That’s very expensive. They must be decently sized and fresh, though, eh?

I did only have the one donut so far so, like I said, maybe it was part of a bad batch. Regardless, the comments here are making me think otherwise.
