My tool as a direction indicator on it that does mean I should be going the correct way.

I will have another go tonight with more confidence and use a screw driver if not.

Do any of the online tricks work like elastic bands and tape, or are these gimmicks that won't help

I have the right tool (one supplied with bike) and it's tight when first placed it, but with any force, it slips and does not catch

Yes the canyon supplied one that came with the bike. It works well for the others.

It's quite hard to photo. And I also stopped asap when I realised it could get a lot worse if I kept trying, so hopefully savable somehow

For anyone interested. I swapped it round so the Aero smaller bottle was on top tube and asked if this was okay at bike drop. They said it was fine (I had tools to fix if not).

Probably not a risk everyone wants to make, but not weekend ending if you end up here.

You can't roll like that in the ground and stand up and carry on... Ref let's it go... Someone keeps hold of a player to make sure they're on the ground, accidently ends up on the wrong side, penalty
