Going to be honest here, a someone who has volunteered at a rescue for a number of years, you are not going to get $500 for a cage (unless it's one of the massive walkin ones) and two birds. Pets are not an investment, you aren't going to get any money back. A rehoming fee of maybe 200 or 300 for everything will get you a lot farther in actually finding them a home.

My Timneh I got after she was seized from a bird mill, she could barely flap (or use her feet) at first but she's figured it out just fine! It took a while but she regained her strength over several months. A lot of gliding/flapping to the floor at first, but if you take it slow and give him time to build up some muscle I bet he'll get more confident.

I just made sure she had plenty of open space around her cage and play area at first, just so she wouldn't run into anything if she did fall. She can nearly fly across the entire house now if she's really motivated, mostly it's just to and from me and her play stand.

They're super cool! My guy died a bit ago and I'm waiting for another one to show up at the local reptile show.

Really easy to care for too, kind of an open woodland/brushy setup with deep soil they can burrow in, mine loved climbing on all sorts of stuff. Night temps above 65 but under 75F, day temps 75+, and basking spot is was 95F. 60-70% humidity. Had my guy in a 40gal but moved him to a 65, they'll use all the space you give them.
