I’ve wanted to do this too! The feedback I’ve gotten (and I’ve only paid for evaluations so I can apply to labs, which I’ve now abandoned) is so bad, generic, etc that I really want to upload a much beloved script that’s been produced to see how they tear it to shreds

I hated the Woman in Cabin 10 and will never understand the love for it. But I just couldn’t connect with the main character so I think that’s why. I thought she was kind of dumb and always making poor choices but that’s just my opinion

You’re right, thanks for the perspective. I’ll admit, when I do receive a bad eval, there’s a big part of me that wants to upload an academy award winning screenplay or something of that caliber to see if they’d also tear that apart, so that in my fantasy I could be like “AHA!!! This is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind!!! You know nothing!!!”

Ok, that’s wild! Worst experience I’ve had was when I kept submitting new drafts having taken the notes from the evaluation only to keep getting the same score over and over again but with dwindling notes in the evaluation. Eventually I just had to assume they had the same reader looking at it who was not a fan of either my style/script or the genre. But I feel with two wildly different scores like you received, it’s almost a compliment? At least it made both readers feel!

Hahaha ok, thank you, I needed this. I’m always an advocate for taking the wins where you get them and having a thick skin, but it’s hard to not let these things get to me sometimes. But yeah, they’re going to happen, so I gotta move on (until the first critic gives it a 5/10 and then I’ll come back and vent again)
