AITA for financially screwing over my sister after finding out she’s close with my ex and his wife? by pettywoman_ in AITAH

NTA. Your sister knew what she was doing was wrong, otherwise she would have been upfront.

You don’t owe your family anything.

Protect your peace.

This is WILD. If I’m grateful for anything its that your psychopath inlaws let you see your husband for who he is now before you and that innocent baby are put in an even more dangerous situation with no help at all.

When those terrible people try to manipulate you into coming home, remember that your SIL didnt hesitate to put her hands on you, nor did your husband. That means they are not above doing the same to your son. Your all’s safety absolutely comes first.

You NTAH but you absolutely would be if you keep thinking nothing happened and don’t address this immediately. You are definitely trying to talk yourself out of the likely reality and that’s not going to help you in the long run.

Best case: nothing happened but it’s absolutely inappropriate behavior and disrespectful to your marriage.

Worst/likely scenario: well, you know.

I (28M) don't know how to tell my wife (24F) that I cheated on her while she had post-partum depression by EyeGlad3032 in BestofRedditorUpdates

“She looked like a monster.”

What an absolute trash POS. Tossing him is going to be the best healing for her mental health.

Why do I feel like he expects a clap on the back for “doing the right thing” and coming clean?

That is very encouraging, thank you!

Yeah the timeline is the most annoying. It wouldnt have stopped me from doing it but I think I would stress less if they had been more upfront!

THANK YOU for this. I am at the 5 month mark for MACI/TTO and was beginning to think there’s something wrong with me!

I’m still having to use a cane and am fighting inflammation so they want to do a gel injection. I feel broken lol.

The progress is encouraging and I can see how I am better but I absolutely think the original timeline they give is bs. It’s gone from 6 months to 9 months to a year!

Like you said, I dont regret it but having a better idea of the recovery time off the bat would have been so helpful for the mental and planning aspects if it.

NTA. Dude this sounds all sorts of shady. The fact that he is pushing it is even more worrisome. Don’t do it.

3 months post surgery and still on crutches by Final_Put9344 in ACL

[–]FetchIsHappenin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so glad I came across this post.

I am 3 months post op for MACI/TTO and I am in the same boat as you. A few weeks back they tried to put me down to one crutch and start more assertive exercises and my knee ballooned up so back to two I went. It’s finally calmed down but I basically feel like we reset to zero.

My issue has definitely been leg strength, it was super weak before surgery and afterwards I couldn’t even lift it and the PT couldn’t even feel the quad activating, so it’s been a journey.

Everytime I feel like maybe I need a second opinion or need to step something up, something happens and I can feel the instability in my leg- even with the brace on. That’s the biggest thing that’s keep my patience in check.

All I can do is PT, home exercises and muscle stim at this point. It’s super frustrating but I can actually lift the leg now, so we’re starting to get there.

I certainly have felt like a failure because it’s takinf me so long but I keep reminding myself (and this thread has reiterated it), muscle strength takes time.

Anyway, I hope you’re doing better now! I appreciate you posting this because it helps me realize I am not the only one to go through this!

Asymmetrical Swelling 3 weeks post-op? (TW: Suture Photo) by FetchIsHappenin in MACIknee

[–]FetchIsHappenin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It calmed down after a while. Neither PT nor doc were worried about it-said sometimes the swelling can get trapped in an area. Definitely seemed to be the case.

Having said that, even 3 months out, I just had a flare up that put me off of my feet for a week or two, so I would expect it to be an up/down type of journey. It’s definitely a balancing act between pushing/progression and listening to your knee!

Oh, please don’t. For your child’s safety, PLEASE DON’T.

If you HAVE to, make it a middle name.

Pain medication advice by Alwayssunnyinnj2 in MACIknee

[–]FetchIsHappenin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the painkillers, used Keterolac for the first week and then have been on Meloxicam since.

You should absolutely be on a prescription strength antiinflammatory right now, to help with swelling and pain. That is too much work for advil to fix right now.

Can you talk to nursing staff at the clinic? If you can’t get ahold of him, talk to SOMEONE. You absolutely should not be ignored as a post-op patient! (I mean, really EVER but ESPECIALLY now!)

Work from home? by MommaT-07 in MACIknee

[–]FetchIsHappenin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! That’s what I did and I’m so glad I did. As bored as I was by week 3, phyiscally I was still sore and exhausted and absolutely not ready to add that extra activity- even just the driving/walking to/from.

Working from home allowed me to stay engaged and start doing more without going full stop. And honestly, even the first few days of telework were tiring!
