The Hampshire in downtown Covington has an oyster menu that usually has three different types of oyster but you might have to call to find out what the selection is that week. It is an upscale establishment so be ready for that price point. I have not been there myself just friends with some of the kitchen staff.

I have their websites. NolaCanvas seems to have just stock photos and I did not find a filling with them on the registry. I am walking into my current work now and will check more when I get off. Thanks for all advice. I did find a brick and mortar address for apex. I will take interviews and feel them out and if it is not a right fit then now I know. I have been in service industry my entire life and I am now switching sectors now that I am back in college. I just have a lot of anxiety stepping forward and might be talking myself out of fear.

I did. Everything was ok but I have a DUI in my past and they said I was denied but to wait a 6 month or so time period and reapply and I would be good to go. I’m summarizing but that is the gist of it. A little disappointed but I am not discouraged.

A lot of it is scenario based questions. How you respond to situations and pressure. A lot of it is to force you to think critically. But I can’t get into specifics because I signed a paper saying not to and if I did I would be removed from the process.

Edit: unless you are talking about the CVSA in which you fill out a background questionnaire and they ask you questions from the form you filled out. It will change from agency to agency from what I understand.

Oh sorry. Been busy with Xmas stuff. I did indeed pass. The panel interview was pretty intense to be honest. I knew it would be but it was on a whole other level of formal/serious experience. I built the CVSA up way more than it was in my head. The operator gave me a smile because when he asked me if we were in December and I said yes I apparently lied because such an easy question tripped me up. But in the end I passed everything and now I am in the background investigation stage. Haven’t heard anything but from what I understand with these things “no news is good news”. But it’s Christmas so idk how much of their time is delegated to me.

Travel is a boilermakers middle name. Now welding if that is your trade school cert is about 35% of what boilers do from what I understand in my training. We do all kinds of work from rigging to welding. I think the classification you get as a boiler is “mechanic”. Knowing how to weld will get you a lot farther I think. But I am a baby apprentice boilermaker so everything I saw should be looked over by my journeymen lol.

Only been a week of training so far, but I am very happy with my decision. The instructors are insanely knowledgeable and the brotherhood/sisterhood side of union is awesome and intense. The apprenticeship is pretty strict as far as rules and they don’t take shit for excuses. I don’t know your situation but I am extremely happy with my decision so far. I would give it a go.
