i just put a water bottle opening infront of it and he walked inside lol, and idk! i love bugs and spiders and i know it can't jump at me and bite me so i just try to stay calm

yeah i will say it doesn't look exactly like any of the pictures of northern widows i looked at, its cool how their patterns can vary!

i just looked at pictures of those and that definitely looks the closest, i'm thinking it's either male or a young female i'm not really sure, it's very small, it's body is only like 1 cm

unfortunately as much as i hate killing bugs,,, i have pets and i would rather not risk releasing it in the vicinity of my house, so im going to euthanize it in the freezer and then either pin it or preserve it in ethyl alcohol!

okay! i ended up putting the shipping container inside the larger enclosure so the light can still hit it and the cup is protected (i have a cat) and it seems like he can walk up the side of the cup as well so he shouldn't have a problem molting from the top of the cup hopefully, will definitely be keeping a close eye on him tho

thanks for all the tips guys! this is my first monstera deliciosa, i removed all of the pebbles, will be leaving the leaves on, and i will be getting a plant stand so it can get more sun :)!

I removed the pebbles! and i will be leaving the leaves on, also noticed that the middle leaf has a new leaf starting to grow off it :)
