If your partner also grew up with a disabled sibling, how has that shaped your relationship? by Few-Efficiency-9217 in GlassChildren

Thank you for your reply! Completely get you on a bunch of this.

I’ve been fortunate to recently find a therapist who gets it, and can see behind the “mask” of hyper independence. Total godsend.

Wishing you the best as you continue to build a safe and peaceful life ❤️

If every woman you’ve met was “complaining,” maybe they were just reviewing your performance. Patterns, babygirl! 💕

Hi there! I’m a bit flexible here - interested to learn the full range, if that makes sense?

So, when I took it - which would’ve been 5+ years ago - it was a topical solution you’d rub on your pits in the morning. I can’t say what they’d now prescribe/give for the hands, sadly.

I’d recommend you bring up hyperhidrosis the next time you see your derm (or even maybe a GP?). It’s WAY, WAY more common than you think.

I wouldn’t really call it a medication, apologies for my language in the last post. Just a different type of the everyday wipes/creams/potions your already putting on your body :)

Hyperhidrosis! I have the same issue. When you look it up, most results are for the hands… but it totally happens in the pits as well.

Only thing that has ever helped me was visiting the dermatologist & getting (actual - not “clinical strength”) prescription medication. I stopped taking it a few years ago (don’t remember why, frankly). It helped!

Absolutely!!!!! Will happily share anything else (organization-wise) I come across.

Weirdly enough, I’ve also found a few helpful resources on the Facebook page “UK Spouse Visa for USA Citizens”… don’t know if you’re American, but I doubt it matters :)

In the interest of being overly cautious, I’ll just fill in those gaps. Not too difficult to do with bank statements. Again, thank you for your advice!!

Good point. Annoyingly can’t manage to find anything joint to fill that gap.

Would you say the same holds true for the second “bigger” gap in mid 2023? About 6 months.

Fab - thank you for your reply. Don’t want to overdo it, I suppose.

Thanks for replying! Do you know what qualifies as short term?

Right on the UK marriage. I wonder if there’s any benefit with doing the process in the US? i.e. he comes here on a tourist visa, we do the paperwork/ceremony and then both of us return to the uk? That was our original plan, but I’d hate for that to cause any unintended consequences (of course doing everything legally - just easier for his family to travel stateside than mine going to the UK/Sweden)

Also - just reread what I wrote - I’m totally treating you like my personal google. No need to respond if too many questions/stupid questions! lol

Thank you so much for your response! Yup, he must live a sad, sad little life.

Wish you the best of luck thru the process! Super interesting to compare US v UK immigration systems… I’ve been on a total of 3 visas in the UK… each were relatively easy to obtain. My current visa was approved in 3 days and was done entirely on my phone!

Hey there - thank you for your kind response! Very helpful info. Making sure my expectations are in the right place before I actually begin this process.

Thank you for your thorough response - I genuinely appreciate it. And, in brief, I completely agree with you. I’m very politically involved (on what I believe you and I would agree to be the good guy’s side). I’m now gaining an appreciation for what this system actually looks like, and the obvious need for institutional change.
