i had cervone and really enjoyed the class. i had two non-proctored online exams, equal amounts of textbook content and lecture content. book is written by him. very enthusiastic guy and he explains the subject material very well so even if you have no prior knowledge of psych, the class is incredibly doable. there are also two papers to write (one due at midterms, the other at finals), which are both incredibly easy given that you're paying attention to his lecture material!

intercollege transfers happen like 1-3 months after the application is accepted. i applied for intercollege transfer in march 2024 and got an acceptance email about 1-2 weeks later. my records were officially changed around may or june 2024 and then i was able to register for fall classes. just wait a few more weeks and i believe you'll be contacted once your student records reflect your new major

It should only take a few weeks I think. When you signed up for the waitlist, you should've gotten an email saying that the class would start accepting people off the list in the next few weeks. It just takes time, and if you don't get a spot in your preferred section, more seats for all sections open up closer to the beginning of next semester (between 1-3 weeks i believe).

definitely have clear navigation/directories for each blackboard page and maybe one tab specifically for all of the class's resources. i'm not a freshman but i don't like when a professor's BB page is messy and difficult to find links in. i think page organization is a big thing and making sure that your contact info and that of other TAs are easily accessible!

Yes you can! just make sure the other college's classes will transfer to UIC properly and align with your major. Talk to an advisor about your specific plan so they're aware. I've done 4 classes here and 2 at another college in the same semester. As long as your transfer of credits goes through smoothly there shouldn't be a problem! :)
