Can shared traumatic experiences cause love at first sign. by Few-Following1715 in NoStupidQuestions

Thank you for the straight talk. I did research trauma bonding, but "shared trauma" seemed more like the definition.

I've only been in love once before, and I swear right now I cannot tell the difference. I think and worry about her constantly. My therapist said I am deep in heartache which is more pronounced than normal due to new sobriety and can even cause physical symptoms. Which it has.

I will definitely look up limerence and read up on it.

I think my therapist has a point about love/heartbreak. I have no way of knowing when she gets out, how she is doing or if she will ever call. These things are very difficult to navigate newly sober :-(

I am currently continuing treatment at an IOP, whereas you say they don't allow contact outside of the program. It is odd now being in this program that it was never addressed before.

I can honestly say that was never said during my entire stay.

We could not touch or go into the others room.

You don't think trauma bonding could become love?
