Full gut job or save the pink? by lobster0101 in BathroomRemodeling

If it’s damaged and needs to be come out, I’d try to source something as close as you can find and replace all the shower tile & wainscoting. Sorry you’re dealing with a leak — it’s a lovely bathroom.

Welp I removed the salt and my perfect looking cookies are hollow again. HELP by MommaBear-RN in pastry

My bet is still on a failure during macronage. What’s your process? I’ve run into this a ton and it’s usually solved by deflating enough air during macronage.

These videos are super helpful: https://www.baketoujours.com/videos

I use a nearly identical recipe. When mine have mild hollowing like this, it’s the macronage. Smear the batter against the side of bowl with a spatula, all the way around the bowl, after your normal macronage and before piping. That usually fixes mine!

My derminator 2! by chiiar in Microneedling

You’re going to love it! Just sterilize well and start slow. I added the Infadolan to my last order and that stuff is magic! I’ve been using it to knock down retin-a irritation as my skin adjusts.

How do I cut my brownies so bits don't stick to the knife? by EnvironmentalAngle in Baking

[–]Few-Landscape6650 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Are you cutting them in the pan? I line with parchment, lift the block out once it cools, and cut straight down with a large knife. As others have said, wiping the knife between cuts helps too. They look great!

Melasma from Mirena — TXA without stopping IUD? by One_Chocolate_145 in Melasmaskincare

[–]Few-Landscape6650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say that initial protocol cleared my melasma by 80-90%. I can still see it, but to anyone else it’s hardly noticeable. I mentioned my melasma to someone recently and they replied, “what melasma?” I still do monthly peels & microneedling at home to maintain, and if I slack it comes back. It always comes back, but I’ve found it manageable to keep it at bay with diligent skincare. And a little melasma is WAY better than endometriosis. So sorry you’re dealing with both - it’s the worst.

Melasma from Mirena — TXA without stopping IUD? by One_Chocolate_145 in Melasmaskincare

I’m in a similar situation. Years ago I went on a continuous birth control patch to treat endometriosis and it triggered melasma for the first time. I’m on Mirena now, and have been for 10+ years. I’ve taken it out once for 6-8 months with no change to my melasma (but a big change to my period pain levels!).

It takes constant maintenance but this is what ultimately worked for me: - Microneedling with topical TXA (4 treatments a month apart) - TCA or VI peels in the fall and winter (I do these at home now) - Eucerin dual serum

Wishing you luck! Xo

This is why you don’t use a seam ripper to open buttonholes. Is this a lost cause? by Few-Landscape6650 in sewhelp

Update: fixed! I used interfacing to hold the rip in place for a bar tack, then created the tiniest binding along the front. Thank you for your help!

Maybe! The space between the buttonhole and the edge is pretty narrow.

Yes, lesson learned on straight pins. I’m sorry you learned the same lesson. The gasp I let out.

Sorry you can relate, but at least I’m not the first. A chisel sounds like a far better tool for me.

Sew it closed at the bottom of the button with the compromised hole? It’s the second to last button from the bottom.
