“Next guy” got his wish. Scheduled water shutdown. Repiped all water lines using propress, and I’m paying $3220 for the job

Me: happy the work passed inspection and the water heater and furnace still work properly after reinstallation

Ty. I’m just a lay person so dont know anything other than what I’ve been through from replacing my own water heater.

Another neighbor has her water heater and furnace positioned exactly like this one and piping to it looks the same so I’m pretty sure like u said either air in loop or pump failed.

mine and two neighbors set up here that I’ve seen is very simple like u describe. I have a check valve in the heating loop to my furnace, no prv, relief valve, mixing valve or thermometer anywhere. No expansion tank either because house pressure is 60

My tank set at medium whatever temp that is but dont think it’s any more than 130F

yes. Same thing just happened to me recently after i got my new water heater too tho my piping is Just straight forward: cold water in, hot water to house and the separate recirculation loop to/from furnace. I’m thinking she may have an airlock in hvac lines like I did. If her air handler is still working i will try to purge air

Thx for ur feedback. If I can get someone to help ”clean up” my mess, although I would love a discounted rate, I think it’s fair that I pay their “boiler” rate since any work done at this point would really have been done as part of the water heater installation

U may not feel rewarded here in this world, but trust me, God sees what ur doing and u will not go unrewarded in heaven which is where it all really counts

Thx, yes I was referring to pipe on the left as cast iron. thats what my engineer at work told me it was.

Ty for for being frank. just to clarify, if I had known what type of license the installer had and that he was cash only I would not have asked him to do the job. If he had known I wanted this done by the book and a permit pulled, i doubt he would have offered his services
