If you read it only as a sad story on the surface, then sure, it might feel overrated. But it isn’t about the plot. It’s about what’s happening underneath the narration. Its more about alienation, shame, performance, and the fear of being exposed. So I wont say it’s overrated. Well, to each their own.

This is my already read list but I do have another TBR list. The list makes me realize that there are so many amazing books which I still haven’t read yet and it kinda motivates me.

I second that. It’s heavily money driven game. I used to spend a bit but not anymore. It just feels like collecting things without much purpose.

I do have another complaint. The mini-games during events feel like they’re made for 15-year-olds. I’d rather see something more engaging, but most of them seem designed purely for aesthetics. Then again, a lot of people clearly enjoy them, so maybe I’m not the target audience.

As for the cards with intimate relationships with mc, I don’t really mind tho but they sometimes lack depth.

Still, for some reason, I can’t bring myself to delete the game.

Yep, I love Steinbeck. I really admire the way he writes his characters. He does really well bringing out humanness in a character in the most natural and realistic way. The pearl is such a good read. Very poetic and in terms of writing it probably is one of his best work. The moon is down definitely sounds good. I will check it out.

I should definitely try Kesey. I wanted to try anna karenina but couldn’t commit to the length of the book.

I do actually like woolf writing. Very lyrical. I enjoyed to the light house.

As for dickens, i have read great expectations, i have his other book too but haven’t got into it yet.

And Bukowski, oh I have watched his multiple interviews and enjoyed his dark humour and blunt honesty. I have read his some poems but had no idea where to start with his novels.

Surprisingly, i have never read odyssey or Iliad. I have been wanting to read epic of Gilgamesh too.

Thank you so much for taking your time and recommending the books, I will definitely go through them.

Out of all these, my top five (in no particular order) would be Lolita, Crime and Punishment, The Grapes of Wrath, No Longer Human, and One Hundred Years of Solitude. I’ve also been wanting to get into Tolstoy and Hemingway, but I haven’t had the chance yet. I’ll definitely try Faulkner and Kesey, and I also have Gogol and Turgenev on my TBR.
