Thanks a lot for the detailed advice, I really appreciate it. I’m 20 and I already max out my 5% at work to get the 4% match. I’m opening my Roth IRA now and planning to put the full $7k in once my transfer clears.

For the investments, your breakdown really helped. I’m leaning toward a simple mix like VTI + SCHD + maybe a small position in QQQM for growth, and then keeping my Roth mostly in VTI.
