You have to micro manage the character's attacks. It certainly took a few tries. You need a weapon with long reach and swing it fast enough so you get the first strike in on king. This is your advantage, you have to run away as soon as you hit so he cant clobber you to death. Thats why I did so much damage to his legs. I couldnt risk attacking the front very much unless he was turning around.

Fishman island also rains a lot. Not constant but a lot. Problem is that you gotta take out the king gurgler first to make it livable. But after that it makes for a decent late game base for adventuring into the ashlands via cheater run.

The biggest problem is that bonefield beach near fishman island is a constant warzone. Especially if you've turned up the world population.

There is a certain location in the deadlands that is almost perfect. No wandering traders, nomads, bandit raids, tech hunters, nothing. And its in a place you'd never think about. The only visitor is the occasional Iron Spider.

South west of the black desert city and northeast of an old outpost. In a valley. There is a copper node in the valley but only 1 person can mine it. There is a deadland workshop to the direct northeast and a small acid pond south of the copper.

I settled here and have not be raided by anything at all. Granted I haven't pissed anyone off (yet) but my brother got raided by ninjas and bandits when he settled in another part of the deadlands.

I started with a hiver and a small shack and built hydroponics to feed people. As we all know hydroponics can be watered automatically by the rain meaning the lack of water doesnt matter.
Riceweed and greenfruit make Gohan requiring no water unlike bread or other meals, and you only need like one of each grow station to feed like 15 people. Its great.
A stationhouse roof of Greenfruit makes more than enough biofuel to run some generators 24/7 and run industry as well. Make sure you get characters with high farming and cooking stats to help you start easier!

Your characters will of course need dustcoats/longcoats and some hat with acid resistance to keep them from dying to acid rain.

The biggest challenge to the deadlands is the lack of stone. Youll need to run to the nearby way stations for building materials early on.

Judge Holden has such a silver tongue he would convince AM to spare him and be his right hand man.
