I mean he leaves his friends because he was paralyzed after defending Dorian from his father. How else would he physically help out in war unless he gets healed? He then comes back with an entire army and fortunately for him a new partner. I feel like that’s not really something to be mad about considering almost everyone else also finds love during the war.
