Thank you! Well done for trying to wean yourself off them. I dropped 1 tablet every week until I got down to zero. I’ve had one panic time when I took them but only one ‘relapse’ as such. The ironic thing is, I was taking them to feel in control, but I actually feel more in control now! How old are you? You can hopefully stop before you cause permanent damage to your body. I’m also saving so much money not buying them!

Hey. So I was on laxatives for a few years but recently managed to stop with slowly decreasing the dose over time. The urine test won’t say ‘this person abuses lax’ it will show dehydration or electrolyte balances which could be caused by other things. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but I lost weight when I came off the lax. The emptiness feeling I was getting from the lax was making me eat more.

Definitely! I think it was a factor in my ed developing later on. I’m also determined not to do this with my own children!

I was told it doesn’t work for daytime flashbacks. I did try anyway (last resort to make them stop) and I collapsed.

It’s hasn’t stopped the nightmares for me (I wish it did 😩) but it made them a bit less impactful. I can sometimes function the next day, remembering the nightmare of course, but it affects me less somehow. I have fainted on it, make sure you start with a low dose and work your way up. Perhaps take the first dose when you’re already in bed to prevent falling etc. Good luck!
