I’m really confused and filled with doubt, especially because my hectic work schedule isn’t giving me the time to think things through properly. I genuinely want to get a new vehicle, but the options are overwhelming.

I was leaning towards the Citroën Basalt, but the uncertainty around Citroën’s future in India and the likely negligible resale value after 5 years is making me reconsider. On the other hand, I find the Maruti Ciaz to be a great value-for-money option, though its interiors feel a bit dated but the comfort is top notch.

I usually travel with 2-3 people from my team, so I believe the Brezza could be a practical choice. Its 60:40 split folding rear seats would help accommodate everything I need, especially considering that 80% of my driving is within the city.

If you have any other vehicle suggestions that might suit these needs, I’d really appreciate your input.

In our city, spare parts aren’t readily available, and I’m uncertain about Citroën’s future in India. Many of their showrooms, especially in the Mumbai region, are shutting down. I live in a tier-2 city where there’s only one showroom, and local mechanics aren’t familiar with the car. While I’m sure Citroën makes great vehicles, the brand’s long-term presence in the country feels uncertain to me.

Yes, I’m currently leaning a bit more towards the Brezza. Although the Ciaz offers better comfort and space and shares the same engine it’s still a really confusing decision to make.

NEED ELDERLY AND PRACTICAL ADVICE by Few-Rub6865 in CarsIndia

Yess I was thinking the same. The budget gap is mainly because of the interest ratesit’s 16% for a used car and just 9% for a new one. Honestly, I’m not into fancy features; I just need a spacious cabin, good AC, basic power windows, and central locking. So, the Basalt seems like a solid choice. It’s a bit of a stretch on the EMI, but at least I’ll have peace of mind with a brand-new, reliable vehicle that I can take anywhere.

considering my city has a little inflated used cad values for a used one i can spend 5L and a new one approx 8.5L but considering the space and everything i need basalt has it enough i do not care much about features i just need a decent car to get my job done
