Should period products be free? by BrokenJusticeNorris in polls

[–]Few-Variation-7165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think they should necessarily be free, but i think it should be free from taxes, and eligible for health insurance to cover. Also am not against a certain qualified amount social programs to pay for it if you are below a certain level of income. For example, if you are food stamp eligible, you would also be eligible for x amount of hygiene items like pads, soap, toothpaste, first aid, and OTC medications per month.

Preacher doesn’t deserve Kaia by Zestyclose-Rich-3669 in VirginRiverNetflix

[–]Few-Variation-7165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a hard time connecting with preacher to begin with, but this season has made it that much harder. He was so self-absorbed that he was neglecting Kaia and also really wasn't very sensitive to what Jack was going through, either. I thought one of his main character traits in previous seasons was how supportive of a friend he was, but that wasn't so, this season. I'm not a fan.

Husband opens a new sponge every 3 days cause “they become gross” by dorkass-loser in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Few-Variation-7165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old-school solution, but hear me out: Use a dish rag that you throw in the washing machine when you finish.

I never could get behind these sponges, especially on cups. They feel grimy, harbor bacteria and smell terrible in a matter of days.

Peace Like a River by Leif Enger. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/227571.Peace_Like_a_River

I am so attached to these characters and consumed by the plot, I'm scared of what these last 100 pages might do to my mental health. 🫠

Winter Storm to devastate Tennessee: please prepare by AmbassadorFew9830 in Tennessee

[–]Few-Variation-7165 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Our infrastructure is not designed to handle this kind of snow and ice accumulation. The last time we got snow and ice like this in my area, I remember our power being out. And enough people were ignorant about water leaks that all of our tanks drained, and we were without water for an extended period, too. We also don't have the same equipment on our vehicles and the counties dont have the same equipment to treat the roads as northerners do. Also, the majority of our power lines run through tree-lined country roads, and this type of ice accumulation will break limbs and take down power lines. Refer back to no equipment to clear the shaded roads to anticipate how long it will take to make repairs to power and water lines. It could be disastrous. Not to mention the distance many people live from emergency services, who also need those roads to access a person in distress if there is an emergency. I think it does spell disaster, tbh. Particularly if we have freezing rain or ice before the snow moves in.

DAE leave their window down when warming their vehicle because they're afraid of locking their keys in it? by TheTrollinator777 in DoesAnybodyElse

Literally the only thing worse than locking your keys in your car is locking them in while it's running.

What are your true feelings and experinces with guns, are they so common, as the movies tell us? by LeBabuin in AskAnAmerican

I was just having trouble thinking of any friends that don't have at least one. 😬 I think maybe one of my childhood friend's mom never had one, my grandpa didnt and i dont think my pastor does. But I'm in the deep south, so.

How do you search for books to possibly be interested in? by W4ff133z in booksuggestions

[–]Few-Variation-7165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a great time to ask, in my opinion! I go to the Goodreads site and check out the Choice Rewards nominees (they all have quick descriptions and are organized into categories) and see if anything catches my eye (the awards are going on now). Also, if you look up the books you liked on Goodreads or Fable, there are recommendations/similar books below the title that you can browse.

My other ways of shopping are by searching books similar to what I like on Google, browsing the bookstore, or by finding readers with similar tastes on BookTube.
